Petals & Pixie Dust Planning Journal 11/30/2009/2010

I'm really glad we have the video. They caught moments that pictures can't. The Best Man speech was amazing, and I have it all on tape! (or DVD, I guess. Man, I just dated myself!)

No worries...I'm from the tape generation too! :rotfl:
I want the video for the reasons you listed. I think it is just a matter of figuring out who and budget...:headache:

Okee doke, so since you visited my PJ I had to come visit yours... and then I realized, I'd read some of yours before! Lol. Somehow I never left a comment! D'oh! :upsidedow

Your dress is beautiful and looks beautiful on you! :goodvibes I love the reasoning behind your theming, your e-ring is lovely! And your ceremony site is AMAZING! I love it! I'll be looking forward to reading more!

Ok, so it might not be July there yet, but it is here... Any word on the job?!?!

YEAH! We've finally been able to catch up! :rotfl: Thank you for your compliments. I look forward to seeing what you have in store as well!

Ok, so it might not be July there yet, but it is here... Any word on the job?!?!

Nope :sad2: This has been really difficult for me. I sent them a letter asking if the position was still open and emphasizing that I am the best person for the job...then someone pointed out that I might have been too forward :headache: So, I wait....and apply to other jobs. :rolleyes1

I have a meeting with a woman that I met at a training. I sent her a thank you note telling her how great the training was and that I was looking forward to working with this program. She emailed me back and said that she wanted to get to know me and that I'm the type of person that the program wants and needs. I'm hoping that this will turn into something more... Keep the pixie dust coming. :wizard:

As far as doing things for more wedding $$$ I'm finally making time to sell some stuff on ebay and have started getting stuff together to sell on etsy. I do a lot of craft type stuff and figured I have a lot of supplies at home-I should use them right??? We'll see what happens. It's worth a shot. :3dglasses
:wizard::wizard::wizard:

DF makes me laugh...in the middle of a "I'm never gonna get a job" meltdown  He tells me to go look at wedding bands b/c that will make me happy. :lmao: He was right...it worked...He also followed it up with telling me that he's excited about the wedding and we will be ok. :lovestruc MY DF ROCKS!

Last night we were sitting in the computer room listening to music...Disney Music...and Zip-itty-do-da comes on. Now, I'm trying to incorporate pixie dust for each guest anyway that I can...For my mom this proves to be most difficult b/c she knows all of the plans. So, I plan to walk down the aisle as husband and wife to this song. Of course I don't tell DF this...but he happens to mention that he likes this song...So, I tell him my plans...and he just laughs :rotfl: I told him it sounded great on piano and I am sure it will sound great on violin...He just laughed :rotfl: Ok Ok...I get the point...but we're still walking to it. :rolleyes1

Does anyone have an instrumental version of this song that they can send to me? I'd appreciate it!

WE're going to FMILs house this weekend for the 4th. I'm pretty excited. I could use the time away. I'm not going to plan to talk wedding stuff, but if we do we do...We'll see.

As far as the videography thing, I was torn too. It was df who convinced me we should get it. I went with Apex Media. I really liked their stuff...comparable to STVS but at a much better price!! So far they seem great and I have heard good things about them!!

Happy 4th!

I'll have to take a look at them. I'm a little irritated with STVS...I sent them an request for their price list and then Randy started emailing me...I know I didn't sent Randy a request for photo stuff. It just irritates me that they passed my info on. I know they work together but I did not request to have my information passed on. Maybe I'm being a jerk...but I didn't think that was right. It kind of knocked them out of the running...

Does Disney have a list for this?

So, we have decided to NOT do the DHR. DF pointed out that the money can only be used during our wedding/honeymoon trip and if we didn't use the money we would loose it. (It's in the FAQ) So, we have set out to look at other registries. He always mentioned that he wanted to register at Williams Sonoma. So, today while I was at the mall I stopped in and asked them for any info they might have. They brought me out a huge packet of stuff. It came with recipe cards, a spiral bound book with check lists, coupons for certain merchants. It was like Christmas! Actually, I'm pretty sure I wasn't suppose to get this packet until we actually register, but oh well...I have it now! :rolleyes1

:lmao: That's great! I really want to register at a bunch of places, but I don't want to because I don't want to be bringing gifts back from overseas...
Maybe I'll just register for the fun of it, and hope that it comes with little bonuses too :rotfl:

I was tempted to go to other stores and see what else I could get. :rotfl: It was a definite pick-me-up!

So, we spent the weekend at FMIL's house. It was a great trip. I really needed to get away from all of the hum-drum of everyday life.
When we got there we all congregated in the kitchen...The usual meeting place. As I looked around for beverages and goodies I saw the Frommer's Guide: Walt Disney With Your Family!!! I was sooo excited. It's the little things that make me happy.
Unlike previous trips where there wasn't much said about wedding stuff-while this wasn't jam packed-it had some highlights. We showed her the rings, I showed her my dress, we looked over the WP and the pictures we took while we were there in Feb., showed her Misty's website, really we talked about quite a bit here and there over the weekend.
I am stumped on my something borrowed, and told her as much. So, she suggested going through her stuff and seeing what she had and to check with FSIL as well. She showed me a handkerchief that she carried and that FSIL carried at her wedding. She said that I was more than welcome to use that if I liked. She also showed me FSIL's purse from her wedding. I'm not sure if it will work. As always-here are the pics

Handkerchief

The one I would carry would be the blue/beige frilled one

Purse

I'm not sure if the purse would be considered borrowed if I didn't use it during the ceremony. I'm not sure I'm going to use it at all. Nor am I sure it would really match my dress...but I really like the purse!

She had a pair of earrings that I was interested in borrowing. Again, not sure on that either. Hopefully, FSIL might have something to borrow...I'll have to take a look! This is like going on a treasure hunt!pirate:

I also showed her my tiara. She really liked it. I mentioned, that while I hadn't made any definite decisions on whether or not I would offer this up, I considered telling FSIL to wear the headband that she wore at her wedding if she wanted. It's a simple pearl/rhinestone headband-Nothing super elaborate...but I think it would be cool if she got to wear it again-and where else to feel like a princess other that WDW? She loved her headband so much she wore it the next day while they traveled to their honeymoon. :rotfl: FMIL smiled at the idea....I just might do it.

FMIL isn't sure if she is going to come for just the wedding or if she is going to make a vacation out of it yet. We have time, but seeing her Frommer's guide made me really happy. :goodvibes Spending sometime talking to her about wedding stuff was cool too. :goodvibes It was REALLY hard not to tell her all the little surprises that are planned...but I made it through the weekend with no mention of the fun stuff!

That handkerchief is so awesome!! How sweet that your FMIL and FSIL both carried it at their own weddings! :lovestruc You've got me thinking that I should try to figure out what my something borrowed should be now... hmm.. hehe. Seems like a tricky thing to decide!

I'm happy for you that your future in-laws are showing such interest in your guys' wedding too! That's a wonderful thing all in itself!

It is wonderful! When we first got engaged I wanted to talk about it but didn't want to be pushy. LOL Then, I'd be upset b/c we didn't talk about plans or anything. This weekend was great b/c we were able to chat about things and work toward plans or share ideas.
I love the idea of carrying the handkerchief b/c they both carried it...but I don't know LOL I was planning to use the lace in my mom's headband around my flowers...So, I don't know how I will incorporate FMILs handkerchief... I'll have to ponder that one!!!

Its 1219 AM here...I need sleep...but as always...like keeps me awake. :rolleyes1
So, as I eat a chocolate chip cookie and drink some milk, I thought I'd share my latest purchase. I was on overstock looking around for earrings and found these:

They were only $20 so I figured what the heck. Even if I don't wear them for the wedding I can still wear them other times. I did figure that with my tiara and necklace simple would be better. I wanted a little sparkle, but I think I'll have enough sparkle on my tiara...When I get them I'll post the whole ensemble (tiara, earrings, necklace)

I know exactly how you feel! When my DF and I first got engaged I wanted to talk about it too... but we were already planning a long engagement. So, I felt it was premature. But that doesn't stop a girl from wanting to talk wedding planning, does it?! ;) It's too much fun! I promise now that the floodgates have been opened for discussing it, it's probably what you'll talk with them about the most from now until the big day! Lol.

As for the handkerchief - I'm sure you'll think of something equally as creative to include it, if you decide to that is!

Oh! And I love those earrings! I'm trying to find some pretty pearl earrings too! :teeth:

I'm glad the floodgates have been open! Now to just keep from telling them about the cool stuff. :rolleyes1 I've tried to incorporate something for each person or couple...added pixie dust if you will. I don't want to spill the beans.

As for the handkerchief...Time to get creative :dance3:

and the earrings...Thank you! They are simple but I think that is what I need for this. Take a look at overstock.com...They have some great prices and good merchandise....its worth a look!
:wizard:

I'm in desperate need of a hair trial!!!

So, I got my earrings today...They are simple that is for certain...but all the pearls are different color...I didn't realize it until I looked at the picture....Now what???
IMG_0193.jpg

BUT...I'm figuring that they will be far away from each other that you won't notice.

As for hair...oh my...None of it looks right. None of it! I'd post those pics...but the flash got in the way. My hair up and I truly look like a princess...there could be worse things I guess...My hair down looks wrong. All wrong...but then again after a day of having it up and the fly aways...I guess that can be expected.

For those of you that are or were escape brides how did you do a hair trial without doing a hair trial? My mom and I talked about before going to get the dress doing my hair the way I want it with tiara and the whole deal just to get a feel for it...Will it all come together? Or do I just hope for the best???? I didn't think NOT having a hair trail would be a big deal...Now-I'm not so sure....:guilty:

Again, I empathize!! Hair has been a very tricky thing to decide. :worried:

Besides choosing your gown, it feels like the most important element of your bridal appearance. I think maybe that's why it feels so important?

Well, anyhoo, I wish I could help make your decision easier for you! I'm sure no matter what you choose, it will be beautiful! It doesn't hurt that you've got such gorgeous accessories to go along with your bridal-do! :cutie: That tiara is amazing!

I think the hair thing is part of that whole look...I thought I wanted it up...then down...found some down do's I liked...Now...I'm not so sure...

Tank you! I love the tiara...There is a story about that...it's in when I first put the pic of the tiara in...I'll check -if not I'll post it...it's a cool story...

Do you think that people will be able to tell that the pearls are off color??? I couldn't tell until I got everything so close together... :confused3

Thoughts?

I'm going to have to go back and check for the tiara story now! :cutie:

Well, tell me! What color is the necklace exactly? I can tell it's a different color but I think it might look nice together when they're not right next to one another. Like a nice contrasting effect, y'know? ::yes::

You should get all of your pretty accessories on, take a quick photo and post it for us sometime! That would truly be the best way to tell how noticeable it would be! Because if it's not real noticeable in a photo like that, I think you'd be in the clear.
