Petals & Pixie Dust Planning Journal 11/30/2009/2010

:banana::banana::banana:

DF was soo sweet. I went over the contract and so did he. Then, he wanted me to check on some questions that he had. Last night I read to him the response we had received from Nelio. He said, "Ok sign the contract and send them the deposit!" I love how he is getting excited about the little stuff right along with me! :goodvibes

That is good to hear that he is adding his input to your wedding as well. Some men in general just don't care about all the planning! Unless you are that one groomzilla I saw on tv... :rotfl: Nice to see that is clearly not happening with you!

it helps that we have the same tastes...sometimes :rolleyes1:rotfl:

When it came to Misty I gave him 3 choices, but he knew he didn't have much of a choice. :rotfl: I think he even said that at some point. I try to remember it is OUR wedding. I love the fact that he does get excited about little things. It makes it much more fun that we are both into it!!!

I did a couple of your monograms, they may be a little too swirly. Let me know. The photos are clickable and will take you to my photobucket, the other monograms I did are in there too if there's anything you like better. I'd be glad to tweak it until you have one you like, just pm me! :goodvibes

Oh, that turned out big...but here's the script style for you!

I LOVE THE SECOND ONE!!!:love::love: AND THE FIRST ONE....THIS IS TOUGH CALL!!!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!

Now how do I save it so that I will have it on my computer to use????
:wizard:

Well, lets see if we can't make your decision harder :lmao:...here are the tiffany blue with a little twist on the font in one of them...

If you pm me your email address, I can send them by email for you to save on your computer.:flower3:

LOVE them!
Now to decide...I originally thought that with my dress color (light gold with a diamond white overlay) that the gold and red would work...but it reminds me of McDonald's!!! :lmao: (auntpunkin...this has NOTHING to do with your color choices...my mind is just warped! :rotfl2:)
I don't have any bridesmaids...So, my second accent color really doesn't matter. DF and I have a thing with Tiffany's anyway...and during the holiday season they change their ribbon color to red.
I'm going with that one.

What does everyone else think???

I'm sitting here...waiting for the days to go by. I'm applying to jobs and not hearing anything. I've convinced myself that the job that I interviewed for last week I'm not getting. I've done this b/c I really want that job. Despite the positive feedback I have received the day of the interview I don't want to get my hopes up. I will hear the end of the month...Luckily June only has 30 days! :rotfl:

So, to cheer myself up I decided to write some in my PJ. I have totally forgotten to jot down a silly little story.
When DF proposed we called my parents and DF wanted to know what type of golf balls my dad wanted as a Dowery. :rotfl: He gave him some name and DF said that was not a problem.
Now, I'm sure we all thought this was a joke but one day DF says that we have to go to Dick's and buy my dad golf balls. LOL ok. So, we go and pick them up.
IMG_3496.jpg

We meet my parents at the driving range on Sunday mornings. So, we brought these with us. DF kept them in his jacket and waited until we sat down for breakfast. We showed my mom first and she just laughed b/c apparently my dad had said something about if he didn't get the golf balls when he went to give me away he wouldn't b/c DF didn't life up to his end of the bargain. :rotfl: (I would have died!) DF even suggested that he take a couple balls out and give them to him when dad walks me down the aisle. I nixed that one. I know I'm such a kill joy...but I don't want to interrupt the emotions and moment with a joke.
So, DF gives my dad the golf balls and everyone laughed. He fessed up to what his master plan was. (Thanks dad :P)
We are still planning on giving my dad "father of the bride" golf balls at some point during the wedding.

Other things to report...
-Sent an email to Rev. Jack Day...waiting for the Jack Pack
-Signed and sent deposit to Misty
-Been job hunting...
-Got a new camera...working on learning how that works...
-Looking for the perfect earrings...this isn't an easy task...I'll probably end up with studs
-Looking at hair styles...again...not as easy as predicted.
-Monograms done by Auntpunkin-They look awesome!

I think that is all I have to report for now....:)

You know... I think I prefer the red and gold... But maybe that's just coz it's closer to the colours that I'd be having! :rotfl:

That's pretty funny about the golf balls, I'd probably nix the idea about handing golf balls over during the ceremony too, and then feel bad about it... It would probably go down just as well if it was done during speeches instead, but I'd keep thinking that I was squeezing DF out of the planning. Which I am, but I try not to! I swear!

Where is your PJ??? I want to see your colors!!!

I don't feel bad about nixing the golf balls during the ceremony. When my father gave my 0.5 sister away the officiant asked "Who gives this bride to this groom" or what ever...and my father said "Oh! Is this my que?" or something like that. Everyone at her wedding thought it was a stitch. I would have killed him! We are just different people. I want a nice traditional fairytale. I am sure it will have its bumps. Unexpected fine. Something stupid-I'm not having it.
Call me bridezilla in that respect.

If it was something that DF did during speeches that would be fine. Something like "And just to seal the deal I would like to give my father-in-law and extra set of golf balls." Or something like that I'd be fine with it. Just let me have my fairytale.

Ok Bridezilla rant over. LOL :rolleyes1

DF has had his say in the planning. He has done a good job with the "If this is what you want then lets do it." :rotfl: He has also come up with some good ideas. All of which get written down in the wedding notebook. Some of these things I have to check with the planner on to see if we can make them happen. Other things-like Cirque Du Soliel tickets for my parents gift are a must. I'm still wondering what we will do for him mother-we might just send her with my parents to Cirque and dinner...Don't know yet. I'm trying to stay away from the photo album gift. Everyone will get one anyway. DF wants to do blurb books -except the one's from Mac for everyone after the wedding with our photopass pix and pix from the wedding. I think it's a good idea albeit expensive. :scared1:
Kind of a post wedding favor.

I really need to get a job. I keep saying this. BUT my mom loves the idea of the Major Domo. I'd love to surprise her with it. FMIL will be getting her mouse ears that she has wanted since she was a child. :earsgirl: We will be walking down the aisle as husband and wife to Zip-ity-do-da...Which my mother sang to me as a child. :ssst: Mom doesn't know that. I spilled the beans about the favors I want to use for the tea party (purse valets) BUT was able to keep my mouth shut about the handkerchiefs that I'm giving the parents. I need an extra surprise for dad...don't know what that will be yet.

OH! My HMOH moved away. :sad1: I'm not sure how to feel about this b/c a few months ago she basically told me to stop talking to her about the wedding. The sad thing was was that I wasn't even talking about it that much! What ever. So, the only person I really have to talk to is my mom, DF, and Dis! I need to post more often so that I can keep suprises away from my mom. :cutie: DF has been great (see multiple previous posts) and you guys are always awesome! :thumbsup2 I guess those are the breaks when you don't have a wedding party. I'm cool with the no wedding party thing. Don't get me wrong there.
For example, a friend of mine is getting married in like 9 days and all of her girls have pretty much backed out on her :scared1: At least I wouldn't have to worry about that. Nor would I have to worry about picking dresses, colors to look good, dang I can change my colors 100 times and it doesn't matter...I don't have to worry about changing dress colors. (No worries-it's only between the 2 in my monograms!!!) And our mothers will sign the paperwork. They will definitely be at the wedding! :goodvibes

OH! Another thing...Mom decided to have her outfit made by my seamstress. She wants a pants suit and that would suit her best. Wide cut pant legs and a jacket. Color: gold/tan...maybe a golden rod??? We still need to look at fabric. But all in all not as difficult as I thought it would be :rotfl:

I guess that is all for now...WOW! a super long post! This was supposed to be short and sweet...Oh well. :rotfl:

I'm still waiting on the job thing :wizard: Here is to wishes coming true :wizard:

Where is your PJ??? I want to see your colors!!!:

I don't have one yet! :rotfl: I want to do one, but I have a feeling that if I start one I'll jinx myself, and something will go terribly wrong and I won't be able to have my Disney wedding, and I'll have to settle for some tacky at home wedding! :scared1: The plan was once I started getting in touch with DFTW I'd start one... So that should be happening soon!

That's sad about your MOH. My sister and mum are the only ones that live close by for me to talk about wedding stuff with. I try not to talk to my sister about it too much though coz it depresses her. She really wants to get married, but her boyfriend of 9 years is not budging!

I am lucky though, one of DF's good friends is also getting married, so often I buddy up with his fiance and we talk about weddings until the cows come home! :rotfl:

I'm still waiting on the job thing :wizard: Here is to wishes coming true :wizard:

I'd do what you've done as well. Convince myself that I haven't got the job, so if you don't get it, it's not that big of an upset, or when you do get it, it's an extra lovely suprise! pixiedust:

Bec: totally understand that no jinx thing. Can't wait to see what you have planned...

RE: HMOH...when she started getting pissy that I was "talking too much" about the wedding (one melt down does not seem like too much but whatever) I gave up. Not worth it....Glad you have someone to chat with. Like I said I'll just come here more.

RE: Waiting fo rthe job...thanks for the pizie dust. My fingers, toes, legs, and anything else I can cross is crossed. Here's to hoping, wishing, praying, and pixie dust....:wizard:

Hi-ya! Thanks for posting. I've been keeping up on your stuff too! The drama is getting to be less. -So far. Mom is still stuck on the whole "but no one will see you in your dress." My only reply is "Get over it." OK so maybe not that compassionate...but we can't afford a wishes wedding...and quite frankly-I don't want a wishes wedding.
I am half tempted to tell her if she wants to hold a home reception on her dime she can go ahead. What ever. (enter bridezilla moment) I want my dang Disney wedding and I'm gonna get it. SO THERE! :rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

So this morning I wake up pretty startled. I know that there have been threads about dreams brides have had here in the past, but this is the first time I had had one.

So, it start with my father having a seizure. What? My dad doesn't have a seizure disorder...Strange. Then it fast forwards to having my hair done...which didn't turn out like I thought. Misty was doing my photos...and I was sitting on the top bunk bed of somewhere...in a dress that was not mine. When I told Misty I didn't like my hair, she took it all down and put these weird coil things in 1/2 of it and told me to finish the other half! Needless to say that looked like crap. It was time to walk down the aisle and that was when everyone told me that my dad wouldn't be there b/c he was seizing...uhhh...ok...Then, I woke up. :confused3

Strange...Needless to say, my dad is fine. DF was asleep next to me. My hair didn't look terrible-just normal bed head and I have the receipt for the dress I bought. :rotfl2:

Very strange dream:lmao: Bet you were happy to wake up:thumbsup2

Just wanted to send some pixie dust your way for the job situation
