Petal / Aisle question

Hey everyone :)

About how many petals does it take to decorate the sides of the aisles. Like, if you do a runner down the center and decorate each side of the runner, how much does it take?

Can anyone give me general figures, in terms of numerical figures like thousands, of how many petals it takes to decorate either sparsely or heavily?

Thanks ladies! And the couple of gentlemen who are on here too ;)

This site has a really helpful visual representation of petal coverage and the amounts. Without knowing the square footage of the aisle, it may be hard to calculate, but if you know the length of the runner you'll be using, you can work with that number:

That site is also a great place to get rose petals for the aisle and tosses at a reasonable price. I ended up getting my petals from Disney, though, because I didn't want to make one of my guests lay them down and distribute the toss bags (Disney won't do it if you bring your own).
:thumbsup2

Thanks Lurkyloo! This is helpful!

GlobalDiva, if you're the kind of person who loves those "Guess the number of jellybeans in this jar" contests, I suppose you could enlarge this photo of the first FTW couture wedding and try to guesstimate how many petals were used: click here. But if you're like me and are terrible at that game, you should probably play it safe and call the FTW folks directly in order to get your question answered properly. ;)

Seriously, please let us know what you find out. I know that info would be helpful to others. When I saw that photo, the aisle runner with the rose petals really did look lovely and I wondered how many bags of petals it would take. I look forward to hearing what the answer is.

Have fun planning!

I just sent a note about it to my planner's assistant. I'll post the response once I get an answer! Hopefully that'll be soon :)

And yeah Janet 2K, by the way, I'm TOTALLY off on those guessing games, LOL.

I want to do the same thing to GlobalDIva, I will be calling my wedding planner tomorrow and asking her how much it will be.. Lets post our answers when we get them!!!

GlobalDiva, it's nice to know that I'm not the only one who absolutely sucks at that game! :lmao:

I definitely look forward to hearing what the FTW folks say. And it will be nice to compare it to what they say to DisneyFairy19, too. Hopefully, the two answers will be in total agreement. My fingers are crossed! ;)

OK excellent! Hopefully one of us will have an answer tomorrow!

I originally asked for a good mound of petals down the isle...
(i think they took mound seriously) price came in at 400 dollars
and then was quickly taken off the request list...
Never asked if they could trim it down ....but I’m sure they would have

Ok so the only answer I got was between $150-600 depending on the amount of rose petals per square foot. I will be speaking to the florist during my planning session and I will determine when I see pics of the aisle how many petals I want…. Let me know what they tell you:goodvibes

OK, here's the response I got from DFTW:

Hi Marilise,

That picture was from a specific wedding that was very large. The cost was $2000 to have the same rose petals as in the picture. The florist used approximately 800 roses.

If you are interested in doing rose petals for your ceremony, Laura can go over the specifics with you during the planning session.

Thank you,

But I would like to do it with artificial petals...I wonder what the price would be then. I'm sure I could gently force the groomsmen to do it if I bought the petals myself :rotfl:

I'm pretty sure they won't let you use artificial petals cuz they don't biodegrade. But the ones at flyboynaturals.com are freeze-dried real petals - you can bring those for your poor groomsmen :lmao:

I wonder what the $150 range petals look like. I had Rose add rose petals into my BEO for the WP, but I haven't received the beo yet - so I don't know how much they will be. I don't think I want to spend more than $200 on the petals.

IM going to ask how many rose petals too when I go for my planning session

My DF and I just got our BEO for our 09/10/2008 wedding last week (planning session was 03/04/2008). We are getting married at the Wedding Pavilion. Rose Dizon is our florist, and she indicated that a light scattering of light yellow, light peach, light green (roses ok) and accents of light pink rose petals framing both sides of the aisles would cost us $250.00.

Thats not bad... I would like to do white, blush pink, and creme color roses...
I am meeting Rose to at the planning session
