Pet Peeves

I forgot my biggest pet peeve: people who post on a thread about pet peeves complaining about people posting their pet peeves and taking other people's pet peeves personally......(it is MY pet peeve).

Amen! BTW I am young, at least I would consider 26 young, or how about my 23 year old DBrother and we get annoyed with ppl as much as our mom. I do not think it has anything to do with age. Nor does it have to do with your family because I have friends of all different ages that get annoyed. I think the bottom line is we are all HUMAN and we get annoyed and we annoy. NO ONE is perfect!

At the PARK yes, but in the parking lot it is every man for themselves.

Personally If I knew I was going to be boarding a tram, I would be be ready to board when it arrived, not fussing because others were ready to board and boarded while I unloaded my stroller.

I would think people would know enough not cut into the middle of a family. It has to be pretty obvious if there are 2 kids seated and one adult right by the door with another child that they are together.

People board the tram as if there won't be another one for a month. Lots of frantic jostling around, people desperate to get a seat. Calm down! Be courteous!

I'm afraid that you didn't learn anything other than to ignore the rantings of paranoid people. If anyone can tell me ONE, just one good reason why this would be beneficial to anyone, Guests, CM's or Disney then I will consider it possible. I doubt anyone will be able to convince me though!

You haven't waited in line for the TTA lately then my friend

I've read this happens at Space Mountain too.

Tim is correct. It is not common, but it does happen.

Well, three people have made it a point to correct me, however, it needs more. My question was...one good reason why this would be beneficial to anyone, Guests, CM's or Disney then I will consider it possible. No one has provided that yet so my stand remains the same. There would be absolutely no positive result from such an action in my opinion. Urban Legend at it's best.

Kids ages 8-12 seem to be the biggest offenders of this to me, but I cannot stand being in line for a parade or an attraction and the "tween" (or whatever the proper term is) says something like, "Like that's REALLY Mickey" -- we have even had kids lean over to mine and say things like, "you know this is all just pretend, right?"

If I'm being magnanimous, I am sure that part of it is developmentally appropriate -- kids just trying to figure out how to grow up, but PLEASE! A gentle reminder to your children who are struggling with make-believe: they don't need to tell everyone their opinions!

My fave was the mother of one such child who grabbed his arm and let him know, in no uncertain terms, that he was not entitled to "spoil Disney for other kids" -- loved her!

:smickey: Long live magic!

I asked DS14 what his pet peeve was the other day in the car...and he said when the whole family goes to the FP line and clogs up the area. I guess since he has been designated the "FPrunner" of the family, he is noticing everyone in that area.:lmao: So even young people have pet peeves!:thumbsup2

In response to the lines being made intentionally long by CMs, I think what more likely happened is that a big influx of people came and the CMs did not have time to properly adjust the changes and ropes to get us to go through the maze, I mean que;), to get on the ride. I saw this happen on Jungle Cruise, we got in the line and it was a straight shot to the boats, Then a tour group was behind us all of a sudden, and that CM busted her butt to rearrange all the ropes so that more people could now fit in the que.

It really annoys me when people use flash photography, when you are CLEARLY told NOT to use flash photography! *sighs* :confused3

People cracking gum and chomping on it non-stop. Drives me nuts-and is rude. Bad for teeth and digestive system-plus all the gum that drops on the floors. Just nasty.

I totally agree. And no matter what line i am in they always seem to be standing right behind me:confused3

I so agree. My DH is guilty of it. I have to hold out my hand like a mom and force him to spit out because it drives me CRAZY! I don't understand what is so difficult about chewing gum so that a person can't hear you across the room.

My pet peeves from the last visit:

The dining plan people arguing that they still have points. We pay in cash and want to eat, not wait for your points to be resolved.

Taking a picture of my daughter on Main St. a woman was also taking one of her child next to me, turned around and shoved me with her shoulder. Her husband even gasped and said her name like he was surprised. I'm not sure if I was in in her way or what, but it put a damper on our first few minutes at MK.

The last was lines for purchasing things in Downtown Disney. I was in a really long line, there were two cashiers and one line. After waiting for about fifteen mins. it was almost my turn and and a guy gets right next to me in front of the second cashier. There were people waiting behind me, because there was just one line. I told the guy there was one line and he had the worst attitude about it.

I don't know why this bothers me but I can't stand seeing women in high heels at Disney. I know it's not really bothering me personally, but the lack of sense does.

My biggest pet peeve is when people squeeze in front of you during a parade when you've been waiting for so long.

I also hate when there's a long line at a CS and people decide to look at the menu when they get to the front of the line.

Have you seen the Modern Family episode when they go to Disney? Gloria wears really high stilettos and she's tottering around the park until Jay gets her huge Minnie Mouse slippers. I loved that! I wince when I see women wearing high heels in the parks. It just looks so uncomfortable.

My pet peeve is when I go to Disney World and there are other people there too. Especially when they're doing stuff and I notice them. amirite?

My peeve is when I want to go on a ride and there is a line, no one will let me cut to the front. I'm an important person you know! :)

One of my pet peeves is one I haven't seen in this thread yet. People who wait in front of the fastpass entrance when its not their time, thus creating a log jam of epic porportions for those who's time is up and are trying to get to the entrance. If you get there early for your window well good for you just stand OFF TO THE SIDE until your time comes so the rest of us can enjoy the ride. Too much to ask for?:sad2:

Yeah my pet peeves are flash photos on rides (ESPECIALLY HM, SE, PotC, and LwtL- stop it), people standing too close to me in line (ok the line isn't moving- don't crowd me), line jumpers (I don't care if you're wearing the same hat as that group up there, you're back here, so you stay back here :duck:), and people who you're walking behind that just stop dead in their tracks, causing a train wreck.

:crazy2::wave2:
