Pet Peeves

Parents who decide to belittle and beat their kids in public in front of everyone. One of the reasons I hate going to stores anymore. It sucks it happens at the happiest place on earth too. Along the same lines are the people who think it is ok to yell and cuss at CMs who are doing their job and making them follow the rules. Then they threaten to go report them and get them written up or fired. Thank goodness the customer is not always right in that aspect

I haven't seen this one yet...

People talking LOUDLY on cellphones when they're in line for an attraction. Especially in places like Soarin'...where I know most people don't get service in the line. The Land Pavilion is a service sucker. Talking louder is not going to make up for the fact that your service isn't strong enough to have a normal conversation. Also people on cellphones during pre-shows.


Oh and grown adults who think it's alright to sit/swing/mess on/with the queue ropes. They are not meant to hold a 200lb man and I will laugh at you if you bust your butt because you decided to sit on one.

That just sucks. I've been to WDW more than 40 times and I've only seen this a few times. Makes me sad.

People who only use the right side of the line in restaurants, security check, etc. ... both sides are open, people! Then they get angry like you're butting in line by using the left side.

I don't see that as a peave. That my friend is an opportunity. If they all go to the right, I go to the left and I get right through. If they get angry, and I haven't noticed that happening yet, then I can truthfully tell you that I wouldn't give it anymore then a blink. I don't judge myself based on the publics general stupidity. It would be tough for anyone to be angry at me because they were to uninformed or unconscience (you pick the right one) to figure out how it all worked. Bet they will know better next time.

4. Loud talkers. As fascinating as your dog's general health is, or your MIL's bout with toe fungus ...... for all that is holy and good, when waiting in some line, share that info with your immediate group, NOT the folk standing 10 feet behind you.

That would be my entertainment. I love to listen in on the conversations of others. I don't try but sometimes it is impossible not to hear it. A lot of my time in line is used up just snickering. Truly fun!

It drives me nuts to be in a stall in the bathroom and hear the person in the ext one having a normal conversation on the phone! If it's that important to take a call immediately, then wait to pee! If you can't wait to pee, call them back! Isn't that what voice mail is for?
I don't want everyone from Maine to New Mexico hearing me potty!

Pet peeve - people who walk down mainstreet in a huge stream of people and just stop right in the middle of the street, making it a person pile up...I hate that. I love the castle, it still makes me feel like a kid, but just keep walking until you can get out of the way to gawk and take pics

I guess that all of my pet peeves, like the people that smell, strollers that hit you, people with no regard for personal space - they just aren't being considerate. Its like they think they own WDW and no one else matters. Move all the way down, don't take flash photography when asked and for the love of god, please don't talk all the way through the rides.

I think that is a two way street. If you chose to go to a place that is as crowded as a Disney Park can be at times, you really need to adjust your personal space concerns. That isn't the place for you to be. It's something that is just expected. Of course, they aren't concerned about your "problems" they are enjoying themselves and concentrating on themselves and their families. It really isn't their problem, it's yours. Unless you have a sign hanging around your neck that says "Please stay at least a foot away", I don't think they have anyway of knowing that it bothers you. It's simply not a concern that everyone shares.

Honestly one of my pet peeves (plz no flames), I hate it when a child behind me continues to hit me or touch me, etc. When my children were little I made sure that if they bumped into someone, etc. I told them to be careful & apologized then moved them so it wouldn't happen again.

Agree 100%! Constantly reminding my kids to watch around them and step away from people.

Oh, I'm not suggesting I'm a special snowflake and need lots of personal space. I'm sorry that came out wrong. I was more referring to kids hitting me in the head while on IASW, or the guy who kept stepping on my flip flop in line while I was trying to walk with the line. I certainly understand that the fireworks and parades will be crowded, but I don't think its asking too much of everyone to make sure they don't step on other people (because I always get stepped on, somehow my 6'3 husband rarely gets stepped on, but he has taken some strollers to the back of the knees). That's all I was trying to highlight. I do think my personal space should you know, include my personage

No no no, you as the adults needed to get there earlier to stake out a spot up front to garuntee your child could see. Like I did, an hour ago. Ugh.

I hate when the people behind me are practically pressed up against me. It's especially bad when showering isn't a part of their daily routine. I usually move up when the line moves and then hold out my hand when the line stops again so they know to keep that distance behind me. It works pretty well. They usually get the message right away and I've never had anyone say anything negative....at least not loud enough for me to hear.

Dads who always use the word "buddy" with their kids. "So buddy, do you want an ice cream?" "Hey, there buddy." "How is my little buddy doing?" "Are you my buddy? Are you?"

Crappy Disney food. Standing in long lines for crappy Disney food. Paying too much money for crappy Disney food.

People from places like Idaho that are scared of riding the bus--especially the ones that have to stand--they look petrified......"What?? I have to stand?? NOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Yes, the Disney bus that goes 13 miles per hour is going to flip over.......

Matching families. I always feel SOOOO sorry for the fathers. You know the men don't want to be matching what their wife and 2 year old daughter is wearing......."Oh, great, the same shirt as my wife.........kill me now".

amberpi-yes it is sad and I have been witness to both more than once. One night we were down on the BW and we were with a CM friend. We saw a man drag a girl by the arm behind one of the stands, she was hysterical, and he was say "You'll be sorry" The CM got on her phone and called security immediately. Made me sick. If people do that in public, think about what goes on at their home.
The day we saw a CM get yelled at was a day when people decided there was no need to follow the chain and proceeded to climb over them. The CM called them out on it and they started a stream of profanity that was unreal considering there were young kids around. Of course if they would have tripped and got hurt they would be the first to sue right?

I usually try to let stuff roll of my shoulders but...

I really, really don't like getting run over by parents with strollers (kids in them or not) while trying to exit the park. We are ALL going to the same place--OUT---so please quit trying to run me over when we are all packed in like sardines anyway!

I've never had anyone with an ECV try to run me down...just the strollers and when you turn around they smirk so you know it's intentional.

This made me giggle, so much so that i shared with my co-worker and it made her giggle too. LOL thanks. We are firm believers in "this is Disney... there's no crying at Disney!"
