Pet Peeves?

And lastly, the ones who take non stop flash photos on a ride that they specifically state "no flash photos" - a perfect example of this is POTC. Happens way too often. Geesh!

I love it on haunted mansion when they stop the ride and yell at people for taking flash pictures... lol::yes::

People who have no concept of traffic flow. If there are people in front of and behind you, please do not stop to discuss dinner options or ride choices -- STEP TO THE SIDE! Also, if your party is not together yet, please don't get in line -- WAIT UNTIL YOUR GROUP IS TOGETHER! I really dislike people who "'scuse me, pardon me" their way through the line to join their party. Ugh.

i hate guest who think they are right. even if they are wrong to the max. they think they pay all this money to get in, they are always right :|

What is your biggest pet peeve at DL???

Mine personally is when you are walking in a crowd (especially after fireworks or a parade) and you get your foot run over by a stroller or wheel chair and then they glare at you like you should have moved out of their way. I have all the respect in the world for the handicapped and people with children but a simple "excuse me" would suffice... But maybe thats just me...

Now that's funny because my pet peeve is when I am pushing a double stroller loaded with 80 pounds and someone stops right in front of me or tries to quickly cross my path like I'm supposed to be able to stop 100+ pounds on a dime!!! Then they glare at me for running into them!

Eh, it's Disneyland. Vacation time. Time to relax. Granted it's been a while since we've gone, but I honestly don't remember letting anything get to me.

I really don't either!! It's funny because I'll hear people complain about dirty stuff and things that need rehabbed and kids whining and crying and throwing tantrums and I never see that! I think I wear rose colored glasses when there because I am too busy having fun with my own family to notice!!!

I need to put my 2cents in here about the sleazy clothing thing. I havn't been to DL in years so I'm sure sure I'll see what you posters are referring to. My thing is this...whether it be DL or the mall, both have families present and when you have young children around there are just some things that are better left unseen. I will never forget with my (then) stepdaughter that was 5 at the time made a comment about what a lady was wearing that her underwear was showing under her skirt. :sad2: What on earth do you say to a kid that points this out to you?? A year later she's in the backseat of the car sounding out a bumpersticker with the F* word on it. :confused3 I will never understand the lack of respect some people have for others. I could care less what people wear...but when it's a family place...ESPECIALLY somewhere like Disneyland...keep your body covered!

If my DD pointed something like that out to me, I'd tell her that some people like to wear really short skirts, etc. If there was an offensive t-shirt or bumper sticker that she asked about, I would be honest and explain to her that some people just do things differently. I don't really see it as a big deal at all. I also don't think that the rest of the world should be expected to cater to whatever my personal belief system might be. If someone wants to wear a bikini to DL, then more power to them. I also think that judging people because their clothes are "too slutty" is really no different than judging people who shop at thrift stores or who don't wear designer labels.

This kind of stuff is out there, and it always will be out there. If not at Disneyland, then somewhere else. I'd rather be able to have an open and honest dialog about it with my kids than to have it be an embarrassment or something. I think it is much healthier for everyone.

Oh my! This is a dangerous thread, good way for people to vent but please everyone remember that you're not the only one on vacation and everyone has their own way of enjoying themselves. With that being said I will contribute and tell you my pet peeves.

When people don't move in line. There will be GIANT gaps inbetween them and the people in front of them. They are either clueless because they aren't paying attention, taking picture after picture, or not moving because they have a shady spot (like they should be the only ones to enjoy shady spots).

Drives me batty, and I will tell people go! LOL
This happened at our last trip and I was furious because this couple with no children they weren't elderly were hogging tha large stretch of a shady spot on the innoventions queue up before you get let in the building. There was a super large space ahead of them to move up but they didn't. Mean while my Dh and I are standing in the sun beating down on us, it was bout 80 degrees that day and I was near sun stroke, if they moved about 2 feet ahead everyone behind them would have at least been in a little bit more shade. That really bothers me when people aren't considerate.

Of course line cutters bother me but what's worse is when you're in a line up and a cm calls out is there a party of two and you raise your hand and he tells you to come foward but the people standing in front of you make a blockade preventing you from passing them. Then when you tap them on the shoulder to ask if they can move they scream at you "Don't Push!"

Now that I've finished my rant remember everyone it's Disneyland! Have a good time, and if someone steps in front of you during the fireworks remind yourself that maybe that person has only one day to live and this is their only chance to have a memorable view of the fireworks. It might be unlikely but you never know.

I do have to agree about rude people that crash lines or firework viewing spots etc.

A perfect example is we went with my parents in July of 05. My parents were with us and so we were going at a slow pace and after seeing the 50th movie we knew we wanted to see the parade but it was literally like 3 hours away. We didn't feel like going on anything else as we were hot and tired and so I found those park benches up on the train platform and thought that would be a perfect spot to watch and NOT have to sit on the curb.

So I think getting there 3 hours in advance entitles us to those spaces and NOT to have some jerk at the last minute come crash it.

First some people came up and tried to SQUEEZE in next to us. We put up with that even though we should NOT have had to but the last straw was this TOTAL A** who came up and pushed his kid in front of me so not only was she blocking my view but I was trying to film the parade. I had had it and turned around and said I am sorry but we were here a LONG time please do not push your child in front of me.

He got rude and started spouting profanities and then I went off and said MAYBE IF YOU HAD GOTTEN HER 3 HOURS IN ADVANCE LIKE WE DID YOU TOO COULD HAVE GOTTEN A SEAT!!!!!. He and dh almost got into it but I am sorry. If I take the time and effort to get a spot HOURS in advance that is incredibly rude and pushy to come up and try to take my spot or push yourself or your kid in front of me.

I had that happen as well waiting for the night time parade. We were sitting there for over an hour and my kids were very little and some big dude with kid on shoulders just pushes in front of us. I made very loud comments but they magically play deaf.

I realize that we are there to have fun and I try not to let little stuff bug me but THAT is just plain rude.

Oh and when I was there with my mom and my kids were little they were both asleep in the stroller and we were waiting for the hotel shuttle and we were there LONG before anyone else. I knew it was going to take a while and didn't want to get them out of the stroller till the end.

Well I am trying to hold 2 sound asleep toddlers AND fold up this giant double stroller and all these A**es just walked up and practically pushed me over so that I had to STAND on the bus and hold this giant stroller even though I was there LONG before anyone else.

Not one man offered me a seat and they just let me almost fall over not to metion the fact they almost knocked us over to get on the bus even though we were there LONG BEFORE THEY WERE.

In DW we saw a man do this same thing. I was waiting for the bus and it was getting full so I let a whole SLEW of people by us to stand so that we could actually SIT on the next bus. When the next bus came we were first in line and as it drove up we were folding up the stroller and this A** behind me nearly knocked me over to get in EVEN THOUGH he was 2nd and WOULD have got a place and THEN he sat in the handicapped spot and the driver told him to get up to let an elderly woman sit. The sign CLEARLY says yield the seats to elderly and handicapped and he told the driver. NO.

I was floored and said out loud HOW RUDE. I could NOT believe this jerk.

THAT is what upsets me about the parks is the lack of manners and care for others.

Oh and one last thing LOL I hate that there seem to be NO bathrooms in the restaurants. I mean most people who go and pay those huge prices don't want to have to leave their table and walk a mile to use a restroom esp with little ones and take a chance of losing their meal AND table.

I have been with just the kids and I can't let a 3 or 4 year old go to the bathroom ESP if it is a ways away so what am I supposed to do walk away from the food I just paid a mint for and take a chance that they will throw it away or someone will take my table? THAT is poor planning if you ask me!

I agree with your pet peeve about people that walk in front of you with a carriage or wheelchair and then proceed to glare at you for not stopping. But I know it's also frustrating to be on the other side of the situation, too. I've been at WDW with my wheelchair-bound son and have had people dart right in front of us without looking. The wheelchair that my son has can be unwieldly and not easily stopped, and I admit that I've glared at people who have cut us off.

Boy I wish I'd seen this before I posted a new thread on the exact same thing!

Heelies and the abdication of parenting responsibility that seems to accompany them.
