Pet Peeves... What gets your goat?

I really dislike people making rude gestures or honking at me because I actually stopped when the light turned yellow!

My biggest pet peeve is when people leave up their holiday decorations WAY too long. For instance, pumpkins and cornstalks the second week of December, Easter egg trees in June, etc. Drives me nuts! I realized I may be a little too vocal about this pet peeve one time when we were driving in the car with then 2 year old ds. We go past a house with pumpkins still on the doorstep and ds yells out "Hey people, it's not Halloween anymore!" :o . Guess he may have heard that a few times.

Way to many to list! I'll just go with the one that came up today. If you have a doctors appointment with a doctor that you have never been to before, please please please bring your insurance info with you! We had a young lady arrive in our office this morning who we had never seen before. She was scheduled to have a tooth extracted and arrived not only without her insurance cards but with no idea what insurance she had. She was looking at me like I was the wicked witch of the west. She actually had the nerve to say to me "well, if you want to let me use your phone to call Mexico I can call my dad and get you the info". Grrr. She had the appointment for three weeks and had plenty of time to get her insurance info together. We are nice and we saw her anyway but boy oh boy was I annoyed. What really gets me is that if this person gets a bill after the fact for our services because they weren't covered by her insurance, she will have a fit. She won't take into account that we saw her for free without any insurance information and because we had no insurance info we couldn't check her coverage for her. Sorry, she just really made my morning unpleasant.

Late people is my biggest one too I HATE that. Also really irritates me when people say anxious for eager. I always find myself correcting people under my breath unless it's a family member :)

This one gets to me as a parent but other parents who find a need to talk on their cell phones while in a school zone. First of all who are you talking to at 8 in the morning. Second, for crying out loud, talk to your kids in the 5 mins. that it takes to drive them to school. And remember that a crossing guard in the middle of the street is not a yield sign! When she is in the middle of the street, STOP!!!!

As of today I have a new one...When you are on the phone trying to schedule an interview, and the interviewer is talking to everyone in the room and laughing with them and ignoring you!

People who stay in stores after they have closed!!! Um, hello we are closed and would like to go home to our families!! As if the mall is not open enough hours in the week!!

...people who wait until they are at the front of the "drop off"
line at school to have a 5 minute conversation with their child while the traffic backs up and nobody else can get out of their car... :)

Oh, Liz, I second that one!!!!

I also hate when people don't hand me cash or checks when paying for their prescriptions. They just toss it on the counter. I think it is so rude!

Add me to the list of people with many pet peeves :teeth:.

People who are always late

The sound of cracking knuckles

People who feel the need to back their car into a space creating a minor jam in the parking lot

Incorrect language usage such as "Yous guys" and "She don't do that"

I don't think I read every post. My pet peeve may have been mentioned, but here goes.

It drives me crazy when people end their sentences with "but".

I always say "But, what?"

Sigh. I do leave up my decorations too long. I do back into parking spaces.

Oh well

vehicles that don't use turn signals. DH and I always joke around and say people should take their vehicle back because the turn signal isn't working.

I have 2. 1 is misuse of blinkers (either not using one, or using one and never turning it off:rolleyes: ). The other is when people misjudge my intelligence (and/or my temper;)).

Here's 3 of mine --

When people say "know what I mean?" OR "you know?" every two words in their conversations!

When people DO NOT pull over when an ambulance or a police car with flashing lights and sirens needs to get by in traffic.

When my DH says "Yes, dear" in that TONE...

I have 2 more pet peeves.

1. My husband usually wants to talk to me when I'm in another room. He honestly believes I should come to him.

2. My FIL is always late. When we are suppose to leave that is when he is getting into the shower. He was 15 minutes late to DD basketball game last night. At my DS Holiday Program he was 10 minutes late and missed my DS performance!

It is all about control and power and feeling that he is better than anyone else. We just go on with our plans. It is his loss.

I hate it when people put down boys for the sake of a laugh! I have three, and it offends me!

People not listening due to their own agenda! (maybe because I have to work on that one constantly! )

My biggest pet peeve is when you disagree with someone over an issue and instead of dealing with the issue at hand they get nasty, call you names and try to hide behind other issues, such as disablilities and/or race instead of what the disagreement was really about.

I also cant stand people who eat with their mouths open. My FIL is so bad about this, its just gross.

Same with people who sneeze or cough and dont cover their mouths. That is just disgusting. It doesnt take much to have a little common courtesy and place a hand over the mouth.

People who double park at ds school. The ones that pull up 5-10 minutest AFTER the bell rang and they can see you have your child and are getting ready to pull out when they pull up and then shout out at their kids playing or heading to the office to call them! That's my biggest pet peeve!

Also, people (adults) who belch at the dinner table. My fil always does this and it's gross!

People that drive their crs without clearing the snow from all the windows especially on expressways

I love reading these. Here are mine:

1) When people scrape their fork on their teeth when they're eating. It's like nails on a chalkboard to me.

2) This latest craze of saying "Myself" when you mean "me". I hear it all the time lately. "It was just my daughter and myself on the bus." or "Yes, only myself and two others wanted sushi." Ugh. Whyyyyy?????
