Does it bother anyone else when someone says, "So doesn't he" or any version of that? For example, I'll say, "I like pizza." Then the person I'm talking to will say, "So don't I" meaning that they also like pizza. DH's family, mostly his dad and brother, do it all the time and it drives me crazy. DH used to do it a lot too, but not so much anymore since I explained to him it doesn't make sense. He does slip and say it once in a great while though.

Never heard that before. I say (and any other person I have heard) says "So do I" when you're agreeing w/ what was said.

I've never heard anyone say that before

I've never heard anyone say that. :confused3

Sorry, but I have never heard that said either. Must just be your husbands family.

I've never heard anyone say that either.

The one that bugs me is when people say "I could care less." The correct expression is "I couldn't care less", meaning I care as little about that as I can. But I hear people all the time saying, "I could care less."

I've heard people saying that in my DH's hometown (NE Iowa). It drives me nuts!

When we were first dating, DH said, "So don't you". WTH does that mean? :confused3 I had to put a stop to that immediately. Now he only says it to get a rise out of me.

I had never heard anyone say it either, until I met DH and his family. I told DH that I thought he and his family made it up because nobody else says that. He said he knew plenty of people who said it. :confused3

You don't like that? So don't I! (Sorry couldn't resist) I've never heard it either.

Everyone in dh's family says "have went" - for example "they've went to that movie". DH did it too, until I mentioned it. He is a stickler for things like that, so it's hard for me to imagine that he never noticed it was wrong before.

I have a friend who says "flustrated" all the time - and she's very serious. She thinks it's a word. Her dh says it too.

I guess these things are just contagious. You hear it so much it seems right to you.

Am I the only person going :scratchin??? That makes absolutely no sense to me. If they LIKE pizza, wouldn't "so DO I" be more appropriate? They are saying "so do I not." How wierd.

That's the OP's point. It doesn't make sense.

Man if that was the case, I probably wouldn't have been able to stop myself from going, "Huh???" :)

DH does that too! And "have ate" :headache: I always ask him if his hick school taught grammar.

LOL. I know how you feel! People in DH's town also say, "I borrowed him a book." What, did you go to the library and borrow a book for him?

I don't know what class of people it puts me in, but I believe that unconsiously I say it, too. So don't most people I don't.....

What have I become??? :rotfl2:
