I can't believe I'm giving it this much consideration, but since I am, why not ask for input
I have had two of the Petsafe Easyfit pet doors for about five years. With two very active terriers, I have to replace the flaps about once a year. When I went to buy replacement flaps this time, I found that now you can only get those flaps online, as Petsafe has come out with a new line of doors - the Freedom door. It looks basically the same, but slightly different dimensions, so the flaps aren't compatible.
So my question is this: does anyone have the newer doors, and if so, are the flaps any sturdier?
I'm wondering if I should just buy all new doors at this point, which would be about $20 more per door initially, but if I don't have to keep replacing flaps, would be cheaper in the long run.
This thought has been sparked by reviews on Amazon stating how quickly the Easyfit flaps wear out, which I had always attributed to my dogs, not the flaps.
Input, advice, anyone?
