My daughter and her DH are going to Disney the last week in August for a late honeymoon trip. Staying at SOG (shades of green).
Because he will be getting deployed the week after the trip, my daughter will be moving back home to Tx.
They currently live in NC.
They will drive to SOG then drive to Texas for his family goodbyes, etc.

This means their 2 cats need to travel with them to Florida. Disney boarding is too expensive for them even with military discount.

Has anyone used anywhere close to WDW for their fur babies? Recommendations?

Have they looked into flying their cats directly to Texas and having family members look after them until they get there? It might be cheaper.

Hi! I am a local next to Disney, and everything is about the same price. We always board our dog at Disney. I looked into another place that someone recommended in Kissimmee for an upcoming trip to Ca, but it was a 20 minute drive there and $20 more a night. crazy! I guess being around Disney they all charge about the same.

She found one is Kissimmee for $22/night and Disney was double.

They did but they want to stay together as long as possible as he will be away quite awhile. I did suggest it.

Be careful with flying animals where you may have a southern state layover in the summer. Animals die sitting out on the tarmac without water. The airlines are getting better about it after stories have been published about this type of thing, but there is no way I would ever fly my pet through Atlanta.

I used http://www.vipet.net/ for my dog when we were in Orlando last December. I was very pleased with them. They have multiple locations.

Would they be interested in staying offsite close by to Disney? I know of a hotel that allows pets and the fee is included in the hotel price. Maybe a small pet fee but not per day. My brother and SIL stayed there with their dog at Christmastime.

Even without that, the animals with extraordinarily sensitive hearing are out on the tarmac, next to jet engines. The tarmac workers are required to wear high grade hearing protection, what do you think it will be like for them???

I'd never fly with an animal except in the cabin. I <3 my Labrador too much!
