in general, florida is an insect infested place..
however, WDW sprays against flying bugs on a daily basis...

so i've never noticed too much of a mosquito problem when at WDW....even when we stayed at POR....

i am one of those people who are usually eaten by mosquitos, but i've never had much trouble with it at WDW....but maybe other people have had different experiences....

i always get bitten but dont even take anything to disney as dont get bitten there

When we go anywhere else i buy that green jungle formula as its got deet in which is meant to be good

All trips to Orlando we have had I can only remember being bitten once, DTD at dusk one evening.

I got bitten at Fantasmic.

Thw worst bites I've had were at Kennedy Space Centre, so not on Disney property at all.

I usually wake up early and see the spraying going on in the mornings. I'm always surprised at how many lizards survive when the bugs are being killed.

I always get bitten really badly in most places but as someone else said I have never had a problem in WDW. I take the Boots deet spray and use that in the evening, Ive never even seen any mossies around though

I had terrible problems with bites this year at POFQ. Every time we went to the room I was eaten alive (my DH didn't get one bite so there was obviously something attractive about me this year!!). We reported it to the hotel who sent Pest Control to fumigate the room twice, and changed all the bedding etc, but it did no good - everytime we opened the door they came back in for me! I was literally covered.

We caught one of the mossies one night and squished it - it literally exploded red everywhere, it was so full of my blood! Stomach churning!!!!!!!!!!

Its the first year I have ever had the problem so maybe it was just because our room was on the river (though 3 floors up); eventually we went to Wakgreens - the pharmasist recommended products with DEET in, and this worked a treat. The higher percentage DEET the better - I managed to find one that was 98% DEET and didn't get another bite!

At WDW all properties are regularly sprayed to keep off insects and they do a great job , love bugs may pop in and out in September but they are totally harmless so don't worry about them. In all of our onsite stays we've never been bitten by anything (only the rebooking bug LOL!) so we don't think about the spiders and other insects. They only spray for bugs when everyone is out at the parks for the day they make sure it never affects the guests only the critters it's aimed at removing.

I know WDW use animals to keep down the problem critters. At AS Movies they have cats to keep the mice at bay, unless you are really lucky you will never see them they pop up from underground and stalk through the bushes and shrubs and along the footpaths. They only respond to their handler so if you do see one please don't disturb them they are not lost or living by their wits, they have lots of caring staff keeping an eye on them and are giving them a home and a purpose.
Landscaping teams also get busy while everyone is out of the resorts and parks during the day. You may bump into them when you pop back on an afternoon for a swim or nap but they are friendly so say hello.
