I am a pescetarian (I don't eat any meat other than fish/seafood) and am pretty easy to please when it comes to food. With that being said, here are my ADR's:

-Crystal Palace - Breakfast
-50's Prime-Time Cafe - Lunch
-Tusker House - end of Breakfast/Beg. of Lunch
-Akershus - Breakfast
-Garden Grill - Dinner
-1900 PF - Breakfast
-1900 PF - Dinner
-Cape May - Dinner (probably changing this one.. not sure what to.. possibly O'Hana Breakfast)

Is it necessary for me to email/call ahead for my pescetarianism or will I be fine? I feel kind of dumb even entertaining the possibility but then I was reading the awesome vegan/vegetarian thread and it made me wonder. Thank you!

If you look up near the top of this page, and find the dark blue menu bar running across the top, you'll see that "Dining" is the fourth item from the left. If you click on that, you'll see that "Menus" is the first item in the drop-down list. From there, you can look at the menus for all the restaurants you've chosen. We eat a lot of fish/seafood and have always found options without having to make special requests, but go ahead and take a look for yourself!

You shouldn't need to. I'm a vegetarian who also does not eat eggs, honey, or gelatin, and I've done the past few trips without identifying myself as a "special" diner. You may need to inform your serve, in case of a few restaurants that have different vegetarian menus (La Casa, also the Wave), but you should be fine.

I'm also a pescetarian and the only meal I called the special diets line about was the HDDR because they serve the same meal to everybody. Of the restaurants you have chosen, only GG serves family style, and they do serve a fish, so you should be fine. All the other restaurants are buffet or a la carte. :thumbsup2

Awesome, thanks for reaffirming what I was thinking. :thumbsup2 I did look at all the menus but then the vegan/veg thread made me second guess myself. We are doing a ton of buffets because my almost 2 year old will not be on the dining plan and is not a great restaurant eater so I'm hoping they'll keep her entertained.. and the bonus is there will be a lot of options for me and my other DD, who is pretty picky.

After watching "Kitchen Nightmares" last week, I'd still notify the kitchen just in case you have a moron chef who doesn't understand the request or the concept of cross contamination.

I would keep cape may dinner. It is delicious seafood with plenty for little ones to eat. My kids love it. My son was 2 last time we went an we ate there twice.

Hi there!

I'm a vegetarian with a phobia of things that come from the sea (oh my gosh they're so wiggly and squiggly what's that even about?!) So the first year we did dining plan I put on all of my reservations that I had dietary requirements, just in case their only 'veggie' option was fish... I thought I was being helpful :/

I really wish I hadn't done it, because the CM's were all just a bit annoyed that I didn't have an allergy, and there was lots of being made a fuss of.. it made it more awkward not less! So the next year I just mentioned it to the server when I got there and they were all really happy to help and recommend things, worked out a lot better over all :)

So no to calling ahead, but yes to mentioning once you're sat down just in case there's chicken stock in the soup etc.

I felt like I was being selfish for booking because I love seafood (i.e. crab legs.. I'm from Alaska and used to get them straight from the ocean but now rarely eat them) but it's good to hear there is plenty for everyone.

That is exactly what I'm worried about! Thanks for sharing your experience. And I'm a Jess, too. :)
