Peru clothes question

Personally, I think the key is to wear what you'll be comfortable in! If you'll feel more comfortable getting a bit dressed up for dinner, go for it. You'll see the whole gamut on an ABD. I'd just recommend getting a cute cardigan to wear over it, as otherwise you may get really chilled at night.

I second this!! It is your vacation and if you want to be a little more dressed up so you can enjoy the experience more and be happy with your photos... Go for it!! A cardigan is a great and simple option and one that I think you'll be happy with.

I always dress up when I can on vacation because I work in a lab which means jeans and a lab coat are my attire. When I go on vacation I enjoy dressing up a bit so I can look back at photos and be happy with them.

Do what will make you happy and you'll have a fantastic trip!!! Enjoy yourself and please do post on your experience. It sounds like a fantastic adventure.

Just got back from Peru and wanted to follow up about the laundry service. I took enough clothes where I would not have to wash. But Sol y Luna had a bag with price list to wash clothes . . . it was pricey in my opinion if doing a lot but I bet the local guide would know someone in town to wash for a better price. In Cusco there was a place next door to the hotel that had a 2 hour laundry service; not sure price but bet it is reasonable.

The trip was fabulous . . . clean clothes, dirty clothes you will have a blast!

Thanks for the update. Very helpful. So who were your guides??? I called yesterday to ask, but the call center for ABD didn't have the information. I know they might not be the same, but still interested in knowing who you had.

Our guides were Landon and Rudy . . . Landon said he will be doing 6 Peru trips this summer . . . he was wonderful! Rudy was the local guide (wonderful too) and he said he had 2 weeks off before his next ABD. Just a little info on rafting . . . the day we did rafting there was a local guy taking photos. He charged $20 for a CD of a lot of photos and video clips of our raft group. The photos were really good and glad I bought the CD. You could look at them before you bought them. Again we had a wonderful time with wonderful weather. Pack a sweater/fleece because it does get cold in the early morning and evening. They did provide fleece ponchos to wear when dining outside at Sol y Luna; never got cold. Dress was very casual. We had a fun group. Our group was 25 people which was great . . . there were 10 kids between 8-18 (only 1 girl). If have any questions, ask away.

I saw that Landon was in Peru. I've had him twice as a Guide (London/Paris and Greece) and he is fabulous! One of the best.

@anonymousegirl, if you have Landon, please tell him Tobi says "Hi!". :)
