Hey Guys!

I am hoping that maybe some of you can help me..I am not very crafty at all but I would like to make some personalized autograph books for my 2 kids. I am not sure how to go about doing this..

Have any of you made them? Can you use a word program and some clip art? Or do you know of anyone that makes them?

TIA!!

We've never collected autographs, and really don't get it. We have taken a few photos with characters, but think the autograph books would just get put in a drawer at home (like the 11x14 photo of us on Rockin Rollercoaster did!). And the pressed pennies did.

Just my 2 cents. The photos are cute, but I don't see the point of getting autographs.

My kids truly enjoy getting the autographs..it is a great ice breaker when my son is too shy to approach the characters..and the kids enjoy looking at the autographs with the pictures once we return home..

Now will i continue to do autographs until the end of time..No but for now..why not?

I do think that the pressed pennies and ride photos are a waste...and don't get used

One week before our trip last September, DD tore the tendons in her left hand. I made her a medium sized clip board that would be easier for her to handle, and we got some card stock to put under the clip. I tied a thick pen with ribbon to the clip part, and it was great. I painted it and stuck some Disney wallies to it, and put a clear coat on it. She loved it, and when she did her scrapbook, she had a picture and autograph to make a page.

I also made her a back pack to carry her stuff. I bought everything from AC Moore. It was great to not have to carry her stuff!

Go over to the Creative DISign board. They have lots of great ideas. I used autograph pages from chaoscent and donatalie. I just copied them into a word document, printed them out on cardstock, punched a hole in the corner and held them together with one of those rings from an office supply store. Now we are making the scrapbook and have the autograph page to go with the pick. They will customize covers for you as well if you give them enough notice. My DD loved it and the characters always commented on her handmade autograph book. One CM even asked me if I got them from the DISboards!

I made my first personalized book a few weeks ago for our upcoming trip. I will warn you I spent more money on this then buying one at the park, so this is not a cost cutting idea.

My steps to make the book:
1. went to michaels and picked up a 5x7ish pack of thick paper ( $6 for the pack) I also picked up some pink gems to decorate with
2. Went to ask,com and searched 'disney clip art' and was able to visit many sites.
3. Downloaded pictures I wanted. I would recommond downloading in alphabetical order, this helps later
4. set the printer up for the 5x7 paper
5. started designing the pages by using word and setting the page to be 5x7.
6. designed the page 1 or 2 per page with clip art
7. I added some blank pages to the back for extra signings
8. I put the pages in order of the oarks we are visiting and wear DD will run into certain characters
9. made a title page ( spray glitter, pink gems and many small clips and DD name)
10. Went to kinkos and had it coil bound with a hard back cover and clear front cover because it adds extra protection and it is included in the price ( I think 4.95)

I also used all the clip art and added a character and a countdown day to a blank calendar and did this awesome countdown sheet. DD loves it, we have it on the fridge and the first thing she does in the morning is run down and mark off another day.
10.
