I am going to Disney in two weeks, I need a good recommendation for a personal mister. "Misty Mates" have gotten great reviews but a lot of people say they break easily. Help please?

My advice, don't use one. The mist feels good for about 15seconds, then you just feel clammy. Unless we are getting all wet, like swimming- we feel far better if we just stay dry on the outside.

On the other hand, we make sure to stay plenty wet on the inside. Instead of a mister, we make sure to drink plenty of water.

The other investment I advise is to acclimate yourself to the heat as much as possible before you go. Go outdoors, avoid AC as much as possible. Set your home thermostat as high as possible. the more you acclimate yourself to the heat, the less it will bother you.

We get the cheap clip on ones at Wal-Mart. Not necessarily for the water mist, but for the fan. Nice to have a little breeze and when you fan yourself after misting it feels awesome. Ours have held up for a few years. Love the Disney ones, but they are huge!

Agree about the mister. The high humidity makes water evaporate more slowly, even with the fan. You can buy a small fan on a lanyard. Cheaper, lighter, easier to carry.

I preferred the tiny handheld fans rather than the mister. The fan spins faster on the handheld one and they are smaller to carry.

I think the other reason I'm not a fan of misters is what it does to my appearance; not a good look for me. :)
