DH wants to buy a used golf cart for our upcoming trip in December. :cool1:

What equipment does Disney require on golf carts ??? :confused3

The last I heard:

Windshield
lights
horn
and you are responsible for any accident damages or injuries.

I have Golf cart insurance. Full coverage I think it was around $120.00 a year.

That sounds about right to me.

You REALLY don't wanna be ride'n round after dark inna buggy without lights, :thumbsup2

A Horn? You've got to be kidding me. We just had our cart redone a couple of months ago and I didn't have a horn installed. Can't I just do what I do when I'm driving? I just yell "Get the heck out of my way!!" :drive:

As long as you have headlights taillights and if it gas a quite muffler you will be fine.

No horn ? No problem,,,just practice screaming this,,"THAT STOP SIGN ISN'T GONNA TURN GREEN,YOU KNOW !!"
:lmao:

:lmao: I dont have a horn either....but Disney would never know it unless they gave you a reason to blow it at them!!

I would add that the windshield is a must (I guess). Our neighbor here at the Fort was told she could not use her cart until she had one added. She ordered one and had it delivered here just a couple days ago. She was mad since as she says she spends months at a time here and lots of money.

So how much money do you have to spend or how long do you have to stay before you are exempt from Disney's regulations? I'm just planning for next year's trip.

When checking in last month, I received the latest golf cart rules dated 5/29/09. These are the only requirement stated -

Private Cart Operation
Private carts approved for use in FW

- Must be golf style carts with maximum speed not to exceed 20 MPH
- Must have seating capacity for all passengers on board cart.
- Passengers are not permitted to stand while the cart is in motion
- Must be equipped with head and tail lights to operate after dusk
- Please obey all posted traffic signs, rules, regulations, safety precautions and operational usage grid printed on the back.

NOT PERMITTED - Off road, ATV, Utility or Construction-type carts.
Golf cart privileges at FW may be revoked from those not abiding by the above rules.
All drivers must follow the cart safety precautions.
Large, noisy, or utility type vehicles are not allowed. Must be a golf cart style cart only.

No mention of a windshield. Kirstler - if I were your neighbor, I would have fought this with Disney. It is not in the rules.

If those are the rules Ive been breaking most of them for years:)

What's that old saying "Rules are meant to be broken".

I thought about your carts when I read the 20MPH rule. That's a minumum MPH right?

I'll let her know. She was pretty PO'ed. Talk my wides ear off about it and how much she spends at Disney, etc. She's the only reason I mentioned it. Me I'm just happy with my cart from Tee Time!
