I've only stayed in a couple: the Peacock Suites and the Candy Cane Inn.
They were both really nice. The Peacock Suites had a much larger room, but it was also farther away and didn't have a free shuttle. The Candy Cane Inn had a nice renovated room, a closer walk and a free shuttle. In the future we would probably stay at the CCI again.

It's nice to be able to catch McDonalds for breakfast as a cheap early meal. I've only stayed here and Hojo and just found F.I. to be nicer in my opinion.
We love the HOJO. The rooms and grounds are just more light and bright at the HOJO compared to many of the older hotels on Harbour Blvd. Plus the HOJO has a great pool, Castaway Cove water playground, nice hottub, nice game room, great convenience store, wonderful staff, and of course the awesome Entertainment rate.
We've stayed at a few other places offsite, but after some less than stellar experiences, we went back to the HOJO and have stuck with them ever since. We learned our lesson.
If we couldn't stay onsite or at the HOJO, we would consider a few other places. We had a nice experience at the Hilton when we stayed there, and our view of the parks was awesome, so we would stay there again. We would also consider the Candy Cane Inn or the Sheraton (the one that kind of looks like a castle). They both get great reviews.
My all time favorite it the embassy suites, its around $150 per night but you get a living room and bedroom 2 flat screen televisions a pull out couch, free breakfast and free alcohol at there managers reception, they also have a $3 shuttle to disneyland that runs around the clock. it is great for families or just couples.
