Personal?
When you lost weight did your bra size change? The reason I'm asking is that I currently wear a size 34DD(and that's pushing it:) ) I am hoping/praying that I will go down in size. I've seen two plastic surgons about a reduction however they cost about $6600 which is way more then I can afford. I'm hoping to lose about 20 pounds(I just lost 6:bounce: ) I weigh 137 (started at 143) and I'm 5'4". I use to wear before kids a 34C and I would love to be that again these I've got now are just way to big for my body. Just wondering if anyone else went down in bra size that might give me a glimmer of hope if I lost weight.
Thanks for the help and input!

That's a great question, I'd like to know that too. I'm pretty sure it will go down though...when I think back to when I was a lower weight, I know my size was less than it is now (and like you, I'm pushing it as far as getting those suckers in there...but with my current weight loss, I feel like the bra is comfortable now, rather than snug).

Anyone have real-life experiences they care to share?

I ALWAYS lose weight in my chest first! I'm not that big to start off with and always notice my weight loss there first. I have lost 13 lbs doing Atkins and have already noticed that some of my bras are a little big in the cups. Six years ago I lost 45 lbs and went down a ful cup size. I wish I'd lose it in my butt instead of my bust!

Mine did go down the first time I lost the weight from a DD to a C- this time I started at a 42D and am at a 38D and halfway there- I can see my cup going down some- but maybe not as much as the first time- I think breastfeeding 3 children has something to do with it- or I look at my grandmother and think I've inherited her generous bosom.....I would wait until you lose the weight- but I thought insurance covered reductions for medical reasons- bad back etc. My friend had hers reduced years ago for that reason and she feels MUCH better.

After 43# I have gone down a band size, but not a cup size. However my cups are a little more roomier than before.

I hope mine goes down. It's always the first place I gain weight and the last place I lose it. I can't wait to go bra shopping, I hope it will be soon.

The cup is definitely going down here! My D's were full, but now there is puckering in the material since I don't fill out my bra completely, so there is hope for you!

Oh Yeah!! I went from a 38D to a 36C. I'm very happy about that!

Definitely!!!

I was a 40F - majorly heavy!!! Now I've gone back to my pre kids size of 38D so I can buy bras at normal shops at last!! Yeay!

And I got my first ever WonderBra today - woohoo!!

When I was in the 190s (1992-1993), I was a C cup. I am almost an A now (not from the B side either, I'm like BARELY an A :( :( :()...

Good luck! I'm sending you "shrink enough to please you" pixie dust!

Pre-fat, I was a 38 D. At my largest, I was a 48DD. I'm now wearing a 46DD that is starting to gap a little bit. I'll be happy if I make it back into a D cup.

I haven't had to buy a new bra as of yet, but my cup has some major room in it now. I know it is time to replace them, but it's that thought of spending the $. Unfortunately, that wasn't a place that I really wanted to lose it in (I know we can't control that). I think that I'm going to have to move from a B to an A very soon. Hope you get the shrinkage that you are wishing for.

I must be the only one who doesn't want my boobs to get smaller. For most of my life I've been a 38C. I'm now a 38DD for about a year now. I have gained weight now since my lowest of 170 when I was still a 38C although I might have been a D. I'm not so good with that bra fitting stuff. I'm really happy with my boob size and since I want to go back down to 170-160, I really don't want to lose my boobs. Hopefully when I'm back at that weight I'll still have a C cup. Okay maybe part of this is because I'm on 25 and haven't had any kids. I'm sure that someday I'll be happy with them getting smaller.

Too funny...

The only positive about gaining weight for me was I finally liked my breasts. I have lots to loose and I just know I will loose it all in my breasts first and my but last.

It it only were the other way around i would be pleased as punch.

Most people lose weight in their bust in proportion to the rest of their body. So, if you are large now, you will still be (proportionatly) large at goal.

I had a reduction done years ago (almost 20 years! Yikes!) and it is the best thing I ever did (well, that and getting LASIK on my eyes 2 years ago!!)

Get to your goal before deciding what you want to do though.

Wow thanks everyone for the replys! I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one wishing for smaller boobs:D . After breastfeeding 3 kids all for over a year I have a feeling that if they do shrink they are going to look like shriveled sacks:eek: o'well atleast they won't be as heavy. My insurance company refuses to cover a reduction even though I have groves in my shoulders that resemble the grand canyon:eek: :) and poor posture from them. You all have given me hope that they may go down:bounce: :Pinkbounc. It would be nice to be able to go into a store and buy a bra right off the rack and not have to special order one.
Thanks again!

What I want is to be able to buy pretty bras. There seems to be this misconception that people with large breasts only want to wear big white bras with straps the thickness of rulers.

Oh, and forever banishing underwires would be a good thing too. :)

Yup, as I lose weight the bras are getting too loose. Today I had to search for one of my formerly tight bras to wear.

If you're disproportionally large and you complain about back pain, many insurance companies will pick up the cost of a reduction. It's not cosmetic - it's for health reasons.

I've lost around 35 lbs in the last 11 months (with about 75 more to go!) The two places I've noticed the loss is in my fingers and my boobs! Just what I wanted: loose rings and a B-cup! (note the sarcasm!) I sure don't want to go any lower than a B-cup (I was at a C, so don't think I'll go much lower.) I'd think that almost everyone would lose cup size proportionate with the amount of weight lost.

I have lost 31 1/2lbs in the last 2 months. I just went out bra shopping last night because my bras were getting a little roomy. I went down a band size and a cup size. I was thrilled!
