Hi guys,
I'm getting my permit next week and was wondering for anyof you who hav e your permit or lisence, it is nerve reacking driving??? im a little nervous but idk what to expect

I have my learner's permit.
But we didn't have to do anything except we had a 2 week driving class earlier.
All I had to do was fill a couple things and they took my picture when I went to the office to get it.
They gave me a piece of paper until my little card thing came in the mail.
I hate driving.
It scares me.

i am only 11 but my two cousin i am always around are 16 and 18. the 16 year old is in drivers ed right now and always gets advise from the 18 year old. some advise she gave was: stop at the stop signs and make sure you are behind the lines, make sure you are watching the speed limits, watch your turns (make sure they aren't fast) and, make sure you are followin the driving rules you have learned in school! I say dont get to over welmed and just make sure you follow the driving rules and you will be good to go! I hope that helps!

In the beginning, I was terrified to drive. I always felt so out of control. Now I love it!! Its a great freedom. :)

i get my permit in less than a month woohoo
Im nervous to lol but i cant wait!!! My brother thinks im going to be a crazy driver but thats fine with me cause then i wont need to drive him anywhere =)

It depends on what state you live in. Here in MA, you've gotta be 16 to get your permit. You fill out an application and take a written test. If you pass you get a learner's permit and you can only drive with an adult who is 21+ and has had their MA license for 1 year or more. You have to go to driver's ed classes (30 hrs classtime) and drive and observe with the drivers ed people. I forget how many hours, they just changed the requirement. When I had my permit, it was driving hours and observation hours 6 total, then minimum 12 hours with a parent. It's a lot more now. And then once you get your license, you can't drive anyone under 18 unless there's a licensed adult in teh passenger seat. If you get caught speeding, it's license suspension, $500 reinstatement fee, take a driving course and plus the ticket. It's gotten a lot more strict recently.

Thats dissapointing.. I used to live in MA but moved to FL 5 years ago and here you can take the test online when you are 15 and then when you pass you can drive but you have to be in the car with an adult (idk age) then when you are 16 you get your licence..(i think they just changed the law though lol idk cause it doesnt concern me )

I have my permit! I actually haven't gone driving yet. I'm a little scared. I need to go soon so I can drive my car when I'm staying with my grandparents. Anyway, the test to get the permit was really easy. I studied the drivers book and I got my permit on my first try. Also check and see if your state's DMV has a website. They might have questions on it. I live in PA and they had a website with a bunch of questions on it. They really helped. Good luck!

Hahaha I am almost 17 and STILL don't have my permit, but I will by the end of the month! I am so lazy!

The permit test might be the easiest test I've ever taken. If you like to drive, like me, then the driving test is easy too.

The permit test is rediculously(i probably spelled that wrong) easy, at least in MD. It's all common sense stuff.
and driving isn't that hard either.
It's a lot easier than it looks.
(:

I am almost 16 and have yet to get my permit. I'm such a procrastinator. xD

In Iowa, you have to take driver's ed before you get your license, which scares the heck outta me.

Yea in IL you have to take drivers ed before getting your license. Drivers ed is easy. After the first day of behind the wheel it's a piece of cake. I had to take 6 hours of behind the wheel before I could get my license.

Chicago here as well. After my 20 days of in-class driver's ed, in which we got our permits about half-way through, we then started range outside at a different school. 3 days of riding the break for a few hours, and then 3 different behind-the-wheel tests. The only cool thing about that was if you received a B average between the two courses, you could get a waiver so you wouldn't need to take the driver's test at the DMV. We nbeeded to complete 50 hours with an adult and had to hold our permit for at least 3 months before certifying for a license. Once I finally went for my license, in combo with the waiver, I was out of there within 15 minutes with a license! :teeth:

My advice to you is to not rush it. I received my license toward the begining of December and went for my license on June 5th! I made sure all my hours actually meant something and didn't put too much pressure on myself. Now if I could only get a car...... ;)

Same here, we have to have 6 hours behind the wheel, plus a bunch of boring class work. I'm sure it's easy after you start, but our driver's ed teachers are evil! xD
