Perks with Annual Pass?

Hi! I am debating buying an annual pass due to traveling down twice within the next 6 months.

Can anyone tell me... are there any annual passholder perks?
For instance, special sales on room rates or Disney cruises?

If so are they only during certain times of the year? Summer? Fall?
It's a lot of money .. so I want to be sure.

Deb's web site has a current list of the AP perks.

DCL discounts are not normally offered but there is a current offering that will get you a $50 onboard credit (but not a rate discount) on certain cruises in November and December.

AP room rates are released periodically throughout the year. Disney has been delaying releasing them this year until just a few months before the period effected. Though AP rates are usually available for most time periods, they are not guaranteed to be released.

How do I find out about AP rates? Where should I look for these, or do I have to call CRO?

The resort board always has a running thread of the current availability of AP rates. Right now they are only available through 9/29/04. You would call CRO.

My husband and I have been buying AP for years. The benefits with the savings on room rates were always worth it. This September the AP rates were only about 5 dollars less than the codes anyone could use. But we find the best saving is having that luxury of coming and going for an entire year to be the best. We never have to worry that we are missing out if we skip the parks or just go on over for the fireworks. With the other passes once you enter the park, you feel that you need to get your money's worth.

We have used the discount for the Keys to the Kingdome Tour which we enjoyed, and if we remember it, we use it for lunch in epcot - most times we forget to use it!!!

I believe there are discounts to the water parks, minature golfing (substantial) and lunch M-F at select restaurants. We just got back last Wednesday and I used my annual pass for 10% discount at World of Disney, located in DT Disney in the Markeplace where it seems to have everything. I bought a watch and other souvies totaling about 100.00 and saved 10.00 with the card. We had a great lunch at Fort Wilderness on a Friday with a 10% discount.

I also figured there were 5 days this year we drove onto the property to go to the parks and the annual pass saved us the parking fee = 40.00

That, along with admission price being fixed, hotel discounts are the reasons I am convinced it was a good deal for me this year.
