Sorry I searched for this and couldn't find the info anywhere. I am enting points from a DVC and wondered what the "perks" of being a guest of a DVC member are...I saw that there is no fee for se of the weight room at the BWV and you can swim at any pool except for the one at BCV. Are there any other "perks" that I should try and utilize? Thanks for your help. Sean

if you are flying to orlando you can use magic express to get from the airport to the dvc resort.

you also can purchase the dining plan, which many feel is a good deal.

I just returned from renting SSR. I believe most perks are for members. There are shopping discounts at for stores at DTD and tour disocunts at the parks. Members also receive disocunts on AP's. I believe you must present a membership card to receive these. We did not try it. Your room card will more than likely say DVC Member(ours did) but the benefit handout from SSR says that both the room key and membership card are required for the discounts.

Renters get a great deal on the value of the room, Magical Express and the Dining plan.

Any other perks are for the actual members.

Technically, DVC perks are for Members, not renters paying compensation to the member to use the accomodations. Onsite perks, provided to all WDW guests are available to you, like Magical Express, package delivery, Extra Magic Hours, theme park parking, etc. You can also get the dining plan.

You will not be eligible for the Annual Pass discounts, and many of the other perks associated with membership now require us show our DVC membership cards, not a room key. It certainly never hurts to ask for the dining discounts, and you may be allowed to pool hop (AKL is also a forbidden pool hopping resort)...but you may just as easily be denied any of these perks. It depends upon the CM.

Thanks for all the help...it looks like since I am not the actual Member I don't get anything different than if I had boked this myself...well I guess I saved a LOT of $. Thanks again for everyones help.

I am curious what did you pay per point to rent, and how much vs paying cash for the room do you figure you saved?

There is only one perk that DVC members get and that is "pool hopping" anthing else is a discount which is not a perk even if DVC calls it one.
