Some people would say three days, but I say four or fives days so that you can take your time, look around, and not worry so much about doing it commando style :thumbsup2 We've done short trips that were fun, but we felt we did not get to do everything we wanted to do. There are some good deals on hotels, depending on when you want to go, so that can be quite inexpensive too.

Have fun planning!

I would say three days if you only wanted to see your favorites. I agree, 4 to 5 if you really wanted to try some other things and not rush.

My vote is for at least 4-5 days. I guess it depends too on how old your kids are. My son was 3 on his first trip, we went for 5 days. We took naps in the afternoon and went back to the park for the evenings and closed the park every day. Last year and this year we are going for 6 days. We go at a very good pace, take breaks when we need to. It also helps because the park closes early when we're there too. Some think we're crazy for 6 days...but with shorter and hours and the nice pace we go at it works perfect for us. Have fun!

Here is what I generally follow:

Rushed pace: 2 days
Steady, but quick pace: 3 days
Steady pace: 4 days
Leisurely pace: 5 days

If you are going with adults then I would say 3 days. But since you are going with kids then definitely 4-5 days. 3 days you can see pretty much everything if your rushing. 4-5 days for anyone is much more leisure and gives you a bit more time to go see your favorites one more time before you leave.

One more vote for 4 - 5 days. I prefer a leisurly pace as well. :thumbsup2

Depends on when you go and how fast you go. I did everything but four attractions (HISTA, Dumbo, Casey Jr., Gadget's Go Coaster) in Disneyland Park in one day, and rode most of them multiple times. That was a rainy Saturday, so I had the advantage of rain keeping the crowds small, a magic morning at 7am and the park not closing until midnight. But even if the park had been open from 9-9 I still could have done everything at least once. My pace that day would be best described as commando-lite. I didn't run, but I didn't linger except for a smoke break once or twice an hour and a stop for lunch.
On an average weekday I'd say probably 3 days would be plenty.

We do our darndest to do slow times and mid week with maybe one weekend day to see special stuff. Minimum of 4 days works well for us.

Another vote for 4-5 days. I think three is just to short. I would feel like I had just gotten there and knew I was about to leave too. I like those extra days.

How old are your kids? Our first family trip was in 2006 with a 3yr and 9mo old. It wasn't until the 5th park day that we started repeating rides. I'd also recommend inserting a non park day or a couple pool afternoons in between. I don't think we would have made it 5 park days without a day off in the middle, we had a renewed excitement for days 4 or 5...

This time I'm planning 7 days but will be at the pool just about every afternoon...

To be able to do everything at a leisurely pace then 5 days I feel is the minimum but plan for a couple of rest days as well (depending on the age of your kids). On our trip in 2004 we had a 5 day pass and we got to do everything and our favourites at least once each day. On our second trip in 2006 we had a 14 day pass and that was even better, we went into the parks 10 days in all, we thought we would have got it out of our system but here we are planning another trip....

Last summer we went with our 2 small kids and 4 days was perfect. We got to see and ride everything we wanted to and some more than once. I never felt rushed and it was a lot more enjoyable and leisurely than when we did 3 days.

I would say 4-6 days. We went 3 days last month (our first trip) and it just wasn't enough. We're going back for 5 more next month.

It's really not much more for extra days, beyond 3. Your flight/travel costs are fixed. The incremental cost for longer park tickets are minimal. The hotel and food are the biggest variables, and you can stay and eat cheap without sacrificing the quality of your vacation.

Be planning for next year, too. If you think you'll come back, consider upgrading to season passes and schedule next year's trip a week or two earlier than this year's.

To the OP, Hey but don't feel bad if you were doing WDW it would be 3 weeks!!!

2 is the bare min, Id go for three to be relaxing, anything thing over that is super :thumbsup2

For a liesurely trip with time to see everything and go back to faves I highly recommend 5 days. It's perfect when you have lots to see and want to see it all.
