Perfect Resort for 5

We're a family of 4 + grandma and I've booked POR for our upcoming trip, actually a split stay with POR and the Contemporary. On our last trip we stayed at GF and we had no issues being together so I'm hoping this trip will be the same, even with POR rooms being a bit smaller.

My brother is also planning a trip (family of 5) and is looking at the Dolphin. I'm not crazy about their sorta-kinda onsite situation but the location is definitely good and great deals can be had.
POR is definitely more cramped, esp with 5, 3 of which are adults. CR rooms are very spacious. You'll be comfortable there.

We area family of 5. Our last trip in the Spring we stayed at WL because our youngest was under 3. We had a bunk room and our two youngest (2 and 4 at the time) shared the bottom bunk and our tween took the top bunk.

We just returned from a short trip to see Osborne Lights one last time and stayed at POR for the first time. We really enjoyed it. The room was bigger than our room at WL. We definitely felt less cramped. Our kids are 3, 5, and 12 so still on the smaller side. I did notice the lack of storage, which may have been an issue if we stayed longer since I do like to unpack. There were three small drawers under the murphy bed, and where the fridge is, there were three small shelves.

We were able to get some sort of discount on our room. It was a % off, I just don't remember the exact %.

Prior to our WL trip we rented points and stayed at a 1 bedroom at Kidani. Perfect size for the 5 of us.

I wouldn't hesitate to stay at POR again for a shorter trip. But for something longer, I'm not sure.

We have stayed at POR Alligator Bayou several times, since we are also a family of five. The room is on the small size. The pull out bed is really only comfortable for a small child. It is a nice resort, and the boat ride to Disney Springs is great!

We also stayed in a suite at All-Star Music. It was definitely nice to have the extra room. Hubby and I could watch TV after the kids were asleep. AoA suites usually don't get much of a discount...We have stayed there once when only four of us were on the trip. We stayed in a Little Mermaid room, not a suite. It is a fun resort. The main pool area is great. We enjoyed the food court and the animation classes.

If money weren't an option, I would choose an AoA suite. Second choice: POR and third choice: ASMu.

We are a family of 5 and we are debating between POR, CB, and the Cabins because they will sleep 6. Just thought I would throw the Cabins into the mix.

I agree that POR does not have enough storage. Five of us stayed in Alligator Bayou a couple of years ago and it was miserable. I took a lot of clothes hangers from home to help with the problem and it helped a little, but we still had to live out of suitcases. The room was really, really cluttered for five people. Also, we went to the resort in September and it was packed. Disney had already done their seasonal lay offs and the food court service was absolutely horrendous. We tried to dine in the food court a few times, but the crowds and wait times were insane. There were people stepping all over each other in the food area and they had ONE cashier. We gave up, hopped in the car and went elsewhere.

We are also a family of 5, and for all of our trips we stayed in villas (rented points.) It was fantastic. Last year it was either we went with a mod or we didn't go. My husband thought that 5 of us in one room would be a nightmare. It was totally fine. We stayed in the 5 person room at CBR. It was such a great experience that when I booked this year's trip it was a no brainer to book a 5 person mod (we went with POR) and use the money savings to splurge on something else.

We will be at CBR in 11 days with 5 people, 3 smaller kids and 2 adults. We are only staying on site for 4 days though so if it is a huge issue we won't be there that long. That being said we normally do fine in regular hotel rooms so I am not to worried. We thought about AoA but the cost savings of CBR especially since they offered both the room discount or Stay, Play and Dine during our time period made it a no brainer. We are saving about $400 with stay play and dine if I remember right. With newly refurbed rooms I figure it is worth a shot, especially since it is way cheaper then AoA and cheaper then 2 POP! rooms as well which were our other plans.

They do offer discounts on both moderates that can sleep 5.

It seems like the cabins are priced more towards the deluxe price, right? And how is the bus service? Seems like you have to wait for a tram to get to the distant bus stop - and then wait for the bus.

We are a family of five and stayed at CBR this year. We loved it and I thought there was plenty of space and storage. Prior to that we had stayed deluxe and enjoyed BWI and BC, but if you need a more affordable option CBR was great.
