My Friday of the Pin Event had many 'memorable moments'. Talk about Murphy's Law:
  1. After a great time at the Adventurer's Club WIWI Thursday night, I woke up with a migraine headache Friday morning.
  2. Because of trying to get rid of the headache from h*ll, I got to World Showplace at 1:55pm - a mere 5 minutes before the RSP turn-in deadline.
  3. I was so jittery all afternoon because of all the caffeine I consumed trying to rid myself of the headache.
  4. As I was planning to leave WS to go to the Contemporary meet, The Storm hit and we all got locked inside WS for 2 hours. We were even asked to stay back 10 feet from the exit doors.
  5. Got to the Contemporary at around 9:15pm after dodging fallen trees on the road
  6. Getting ready to leave the Contemporary, I realized I had locked my key in the rental car. Took forever to get the keycode from Dollar rent-a-car, which Dinsey {lol} needed in order to open my car. I waited by the car until 1:45am when the Dinsey locksmith showed up to open the car. The key had fallen between the seat and the door.
  7. I get back to ASMu only to have one of my contacts rip as I was cleaning it before bed. Luckily, I had a spare from an old prescription. Saw blurry pins for the rest of the event.

All I can say is there are worse places on earth than WDW to be locked out of your car!!

When we met on Saturday night I had no idea you had been through this ordeal.

You were downright friendly and perky and happily trading. :D

I'm sure glad you recover so quickly.

I am so sorry Nancy. I woke up with a migraine Friday morning, too, but must have better drugs than you. lol. I was able to keep moving until it passed (also around 2pm). This would explain how I got 7 maps done while you only got 5.

My catastophe hit when I landed in Hartford. Apparently my wallet fell out of my pocket while I was curled up sleeping on the airplane. Did not notice that it was missing until I got to the baggage claim area. By the time I got back to the airplane, it had walked off. Fortunately, the state police called this morning to tell me they found my credit cards and drivers license in a bathroom at the airport. They took my cash and my beloved Mickey Mouse wallet, but left everything else, including my Annual Pass. (Big sigh of relief)

But not even that could mar my memories of a wonderful week. It was so nice seeing you and all my pin friends again. Until the next time...

Nancy, I think this was a Murphy's Law kinda-weekend. Sunday morning my cm Friend Greg--who had told us he may have alternator problems and was taking the car in on Monday 8am for repair--gave us his car since we were running behind schedule and he had to be at work at WOD by 830am. We had stopped at McD's for a fast breakfast to ensure our early arrival at Epcot to see if any of us were lucky enough to be chosen to participate in the pin making event. We parked in DTD Marketplace to eat our breakfast--turned of the car and sat. 15 minutes later turned the key to the grinding grgrgrgrgr--no start..no car. Left the keys and the car and now walked to the bus stop to await our bus to the Swan. (Shorter walking distance and my hip issue was really flaring up. The rest of the am was ok, auction was great fun, we left and returned to ASM to go to the pool. On the way to our room in Building 5--I never knew just how hot August is in Florida til that day we decided it was too hot to go to the pool since it was now 2p and we had to return and meet up with some people by 4p.

Left the hotel to go to the one of the Epcot hotels to return through the Int'l gateway. On the bus ( we waited past 3 MGM buses before a DTD bus finally came). 4pm and we are on our way to DTD. As we proceed to debus-- a girl passes out ( she was later ok -- heat i think). We board our bus which finally arrived for the epcot resorts. The bus leaves to the next stop at PI. Bus drivers switch and the new driver decides to adjust his mirror. He slips and falls head first appx 4-5 feet off the bus. don't even ask--I hope he was ok but it did not appear to look to good. They get another bus driver and we are finally underway and arrive at the Intl gateway at appx 625pm. almost 3 hrs later.

By the way if anyone out there reading this knows about the driver plmk how he is doing. It was really too bad what happened.

Nancy--I can say this though, you sure did get a great list of pins Migrane or no Migrane. Keep up the good work.

Wow.. seems like Murphy was trying to run rampant through the Pin Event huh?

You guys all seemed so upbeat all week even with all you went through.. must be the Disney (pin) magic! :)

I actually lucked out this trip. The only problem I had was on Saturday when I got really sick about 15 minutes before the Living Seas meet and couldn't go any further (thanks for babysitting me Kathi :) ) After about a half an hour I was able to get back on my feet and continue.. although I have to admit, part of the meet on Saturday is a blur to me.

Of course I have been paying for this non-stop week ever since we dropped Jeff and Trina off at the airport

But it was worth it! :)

All I can say is Wow... I knew about Perdita's day but the rest of you ouch...

On Sunday while waiting for the bus at ASMu i was watching this huge family who were getting ready to go to Blizzard Beach. We all get on the bus and it stops at Blizzard Beach and everyone piles out.. (the bus goes on to EpCot after) Right before we pull out someone from the back of the bus calls out to hold on because there is a little girl about 5 or 6 on the bus without her family.. I recognized her as being part of the large family that had departed so after picking her up on my hip (she was so sweet) and asking the bus driver to wait for me I ran off with her to go find them... The lines were huge and it took me two circuits to find them in line to get their tickets... I walked up to them and said are you missing someone? The older brother (I assume) took the little girl and didnt' even look upset because i guess he thought she had just wondered off. I told him they had left her on the bus.. Facial expression of total horror crossed his face but I didn't have time to see what the parents thought as the bus was waiting for me... I know that in big families (this was more than one family unit) it is easy to lose track of people which is why we always have a sign off whenever we get anywhere and someone is in charge of each little one.. At least it worked out...

Nancy, Thank you for the great trade... Sorry to hear about the keys though. It was good to see you again.
