As I mentioned in the thread about do you get your hair washed before you cut it, I recently cut my hair after letting it grow for over 2 1/2 years.

It was all one length and really thick and long and basically a pain.

I cut off approx. 10 inches from the longest point in the back.

A few people have requested before and after pictures.

I found a picture of my hair mostly down (which is rare since I usually wore it up or pulled back in a pony) but the picture is over 10 months old. And my hair had grown a good 3-4 inches since it had been taken. So take that into account.
My hair grows like wild fire!!!!!!

Here is a picture of me in July 2002. 2 days after Hunter was born.
I'm sitting in my hospital room with Hunter and Lauren in my lap.

Nicole,
That's a great hair style - and wow! It really makes your eyes stand out - and you have beautiful eyes!:D

Bunchkin,
I like! (I'm sure Jon would too.)

December99- We'ew just the same in more ways than just a microwave, I too check out the background of pictures!! :teeth:

Pam-Everyone I run into this past week has said the same thing about my eyes. Thanks!! :)
The guy (yes, I said guy) who colored my hair said the color I had in my hair was not complementary to my complextion or eyes. So he darkened it up and added golden highlights.

It's a huge change for me. I was letting my hair grow out for so long, bangs and all. It was this huge mop of one length hair.

Bunchkin,
I did the same thing last year. I went to the salon for a trim, my stylist was itching for me to make a donationg to Locks of Love, I had more than enough, and I said what the hay! Cut it! LOL My hair was at least to my waist, and I got it cut to my shoulders! I love it! It feels so much better and looks more healthy too! Did you donate your hair to Locks of Love? Te best part about it, was that my 6 yr old DD asked my why I cut my hair, and I told her, that I did it so sick kids could use my hair, and she decided she wanted to do it too! So, she has been growing her hair since then, and has enough to cut it now :-) I just have to get some time to go over there :-)

dzneprincess- No I wasn't able to donate my hair due to the way it actually got cut. I got my hair colored and highlighted prior to cutting it and my stylist cut off about 3-4 inches right before it was colored. I wasn't too sure what exactly I was going to do with my hair, how short I was going to go.
Then after coloring I had another 3-4 inches cut off. And when my stylist was half way done blow drying my hair I told her to cut more off!!! :teeth:

I wish I had been more decided prior to going to the salon. That way I could have donated it. :( I spoke just a couple of months ago to my DH about considering doing that, but I wasn't 100% sure how much I would cut off.

It looks like your hair has great bounce in the new cut. Your's looks a lot like mine in texture. Isn't it great to have a new 'do', sometimes, too?:)
