pepsi on board! update

"I'm shocked; shocked I tell you, that you all can debate the relative merits of a triviality like Coke vs. Pepsi, when there are so many more crucial battles between good and evil in the world; you know, like: Bud Light vs. Miller Lite, a Big Mac vs. a Whopper, DCL vs. RCCL, Mickey vs. Donald, Wal Mart vs. Target, Ginger vs. MaryAnn, Bush vs. Kerry, Peter Pan vs. JIF, Chevy vs. Ford, Harrison Ford vs. Clint Eastwood, New York vs. Los Angeles, Letterman vs. Leno, Pampers vs. Luvs, Dell vs. Apple, Arnie vs. Jack, Grey Goose vs. Absolut, or Charmin vs. Northern. "

Love it! Oh, and for the astute point that it is against the law here in Atlanta to like Pepsi...yes, that's correct, it is actually in our state constitution.

But to address the burning issues (anyone who thinks this thread is silly has lost track that this board isn't exactly solving world hunger; have fun, folks!): Neither--the correct answer is Coors Light, Whopper (yucky middle bun and hate the russian dressing, a.k.a. special sauce and it is so much easier to say no mayo on a whopper and have them get it right, DCL, Mickey, Target, Ginger, neither, neither--Skippy (and smooth, not chunky), Ford (was born in Detroit when Dad worked for Ford), Clint, NY, Letterman, papmpers, Dell, Jack (wait your turn, Eldrick), Absolut (clinging to the myth, I know the Goose is smoother, but I still have two bottles at home I need to defend), and DW buys Northern so gotta go w/ her. :rotfl2: :cool1: :rotfl:

logan1 you make me laugh. It is in the GA constitution I swear. My DH and I were both born and raised in GA. We wouldn't drink anything else but Coke unless they have some good southern sweet tea.

When I really want to be bad, I'll drink a Mountain Dew....yes, it's a Pepsi product. But when you work graveyard shift, there are times you need caffiene and sugar.
Some People on the DIS complain about the lack of night life on the ship. If DCL would start serving Mt. Dew exclusivly starting at 7:30 all of us mommies and daddies would be able to stay up past midnight and would be wired and ready to go.

I don't drink much soda (Mt. Dew is it and not to much anymore). Can drink a Pepsi (barely), but my tongue  won't let Coke pass :sad2: :sad2:

For all the pop (soda) drinkers out there here is a little tidbit. A woman I know drank about 3 pop's a day. She decided to switch to diet pop. She lost a little weight. When she stopped drinking all pop it was amazing--she dropped 20 lbs! Our bridge group couldn't believe it and all she did was cut out the pop (soda).

I think it is amazing that this thread is three pages long! People are serious about what they drink! I wonder if any of the marketing dept. people are reading this thread? Our house is a Diet Coke Caf. Free house. Now I wish that was offered on the ship.

Kathy *I wish I was on our Spring Break cruise but I have to wait until '06 :(

Diet Coke all the way!!! How I long for the days when I could drink it. Unfortunately both caffeine and NutraSweet are triggers for my migraines so I have had to quit all together. However I was a Diet Coke junkie for many years and would take it with me when ever possible to avoid its competitor.

Diet Pepsi for me! I think it's funny that Pepsi has a reputation as being a "Yankee" drink since it was invented in good ole' New Bern NC and is the official drink of the Carolina Panthers. (Can you tell I'm a transplanted North Carolinian? :) )

Although to tell the truth, all my favorite soft drinks have been edged out by Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper. Think DCL will ever get that specific, lol?

Lori P. :)

I've given this some thought. I'm a Pepsi drinker, in general. DW loves Cherry Coke. We both agree that Pepsi in a bottle or can is better, but out of a fountain, Coke is better. That generally means no matter where we go, we're solid. Whoo!

The one thing I will never understand is the appeal of Diet Coke. :confused3 Half the people in my office only drink Diet Coke, and I just don't get it. There's something about that aftertaste that just...it feels like...

It tastes like feet.

Having never tasted feet, I can't disagree. But if it does indeed taste like feet, I should probably try sucking on my wife's toes tonight.

One poor misguided soul in virginia
Logan1 I resemble that remark! :p Not misguided, eclectic! ;)

Sorry, but DH and I are die hard Coke Drinkers!!!
Leave they way it should be!!!!! :cool1:

"I grew up in yankee, er, pepsi territory." Hey don't get all the Texans riled up at you. Pepsi is from Texas!!

Pepsi, Dr. Pepper and Coke are ALL Southern, thank you very much!!! The only Yankee Soda beverage I know of offhand is Moxie, which, I am told, tastes terrible. (No offense Moxie drinkers) RE: Issue of soda on cruises, this thread just goes to show you, no matter what brand they carry, some folks would be dissapointed!! My attitude is like mentioned above, if it is "free", I'll drink it for the duration of the cruise. Altho' I like both, a usually prefer Diet Coke and grew up with mostly Pepsi. There is the key, Pepsi is sweeter than Coke.

Mr. Pibb is better than Dr. Pepper, I think and the first time I had Pibb was in Houston, I wonder if this is further proof of my theory that all the great soft drinks are from the SOUTH!!!

Wouldn't be surprised. Southern taste is significantly sweeter than Northern taste. Two words: Sweet Tea.

Grew up in the South. Sweet and Fried are MAJOR food groups.....(Northerners seem to prefer "creamy fat" - i.e. whipped cream, cheese, chocolate - not saying whipped cream and chocolate doesn't go over it the South - it does! Its just not the major food group it is here).

:worship: Pepsi Cola, first known as Brad's Drink, was created in 1898 at Bradham's Pharmacy at Middle and Pollock Streets by the young Caleb Bradham.:worship:

I stand corrected, I must've had Pepper on the brain. LOL to Logan 1, you know what is really important!! ;-) and great insight from Crisi.

LOL! I can't even spell it right. :earboy2: The only reason I know that is all we have seen on the TV & everywhere else since we moved here 10 years ago is Pepsi, the drink of the Carolinas. They still have the place set up with the signs downtown too.

I could not agree more. Pepsi.....Diet Pepsi....Coke after that anything would go before Diet Coke! Although I would like to see caffine free pepsi on board. Like i have a chance of that happening :sad2:

Every one I started this thread right before we took the kids to see Mickeys cousin, Chuck e Chesse. The response from every one is really great. The bottom line is this Pepsi will alway be better in my book. They can change coke to put lime, butter, apples or anything else but it will never taste better in my book. The one reason why coke is used to mix drinks with it that it needs help to taste better. :rotfl: Enjoy your drink of choice because When us northerner finish taking over GA ,it will be a pepsi town :teeth: :earboy2: :smooth: :hourglass :wave2: :lovestruc
