I know that back in 1981 Pepsi Cola sponsored the Country Bear Jamboree. Back in those days, was Pepsi the official drink of WDW, or was it just one of several name brand soft drinks available at the parks? Also do you know when Pepsi got the boot and Coke took over, and maybe you know why? I also recall Pepsi Cola being the sponsor of Small World at the New York world's fair, so ther must have been a Disney/Pepsi relationship at one time. I know things change, but my wife and I prefer pepsi cola and always bring bottles of pepsi with us when we visit the resorts, and were wondering if there was actually a time when we could have enjoyed pepsi anywhere on property. :)

I don't know about WDW, but at one time Pepsi products were available at Disneyland. It depends on which company is willing to forks over the $$$ for pavilion sponsorships, they then normally receive exclusive product rights.

You may be able to find sweetened bottled Nestea in the parks, as Nestle is a pavilion sponsor. Nescafe is the coffee served at most outlets and Carnation/Nestle hot cocoa. Minute Maid (A Coca-Cola Company) is used for the juices and lemonades.

There is absolutely no Pepsi anywhere on WDW property, not even the gas stations. Not a Mountain Dew, nothing. We will be stopping at a grocery store this trip. I don't mind Coke, but I can't drink it that many days in a row! I need my Pepsi!:teeth:

Go to Ice Station Cool in Epcot and drink about ten cups of Beverly.

That will cure your Pepi desire.

Not only is there no Pepsi at WDW, there is no Pepsi at Universal. Universal switched over to Coke products about 2 years ago. It seems that Coke cut them a better deal. Being a Diet Coke lover, I'm sorry for you but glad for me.

My DH and I are driving down to WDW this year, and you can be sure our cooler will be stocked with Pepsi! I used to be a Coke drinker, but about a year ago, every time I drank it I got a horrid stomach ache. While on the DCL this past October, when we were in Nassau, we were so excited to find a store that sold Pepsi we almost hugged the store clerk!!

DH and I love Pepsi and can't stand Coke!! We have learned our lesson and now bring Pepsi with us. We were so shocked that not even the gas stations sold Pepsi!! One night we had dinner outside on the BW and we brought our Pepsi cans from our room and everyone was asking where did you find Pepsi!!! I would love it if they had some stores or shops that sold a variety of drinks. How about Snapple?!!!!

Any truth to the rumor that Disney gets Coke products for free in exchange for the massive amounts of advertising the Coca Cola gets from being the only drink available? I've heard this several times from CMs in WDW and wondered if it were true.

I'm a Pepsi fan all and bring my own with me too. I do remember when Disney offered Pepsi and Coke products. Pepsi was one of their sponsors.

As to the rumor, I have also heard that Disney doesn't pay for the Coke either.

Funny everyttime I visit WDW, I always have a plentiful supply of Diet Pepsi.... I hate Diet Coke and will usually opt for water first (I'm sure that hurts them as water is more expensive)? I only drink diet coke in the worst of situations.

Oh, wrong coke...

Seriously, I drink all sodas. Coke, Pepsi, Generics...

I think Coke is a good fit with Disney. I loved the root beer floats at Wonders Of Life (R.I.P).

TOO BAD THEY DON'T HAVE BOTH, BUT IF THEY ONLY HAVE ONE THANK YOU FOR DIET COKE

Thanks for the suggestion. BUT, I know all about Beverly (oddly enough, my mom's name). So thanks but no thanks! ;) :crazy2:
