Inspired by the onion haters thread...

I just have to say that I have decided that that pepper is the most foul thing ever devised to be put in, or on, food!

It is pungeant, and burny, and sour...

Okay, I can handle a sprinkle or two on some things. But who else just cannot stand too much black pepper. I never realized just what it was that made me hate most of my MIL's cooking, until I realized that EVERYTHING she cooks is just inundated with black pepper. Grilling a steak, dump it on... The other day she had made a pot of a beefaroni type thing, and by the time I got to the bottom, my mouth was almost burning, and I could actually see all the pepper in the juice in the bottom of the bowl. My DS didn't even want to eat it. She even peppers up a basic dish like Macaroni and Cheese. :confused3

I mean C'mon... If you just happen to LIKE that much pepper, then that is why we invented pepper shakers to be placed on the table! Why should everyone be subjected to such nastiness.

And, this trend is now appearing everywhere. :sad2:
Order your steak or sandwich with fries at many sit down restaurants... They come smothered with pepper.

We tryed Johnny Corino's a few weeks ago, and you could actually SMELL all the pepper they were using in there. It didn't help that by the next day, DH and I both came down with that stomach bug. And now just the thought of pepper makes my stomach kind of turn.

Okay, rant over!!!

Well make up your mind... is it that you hate it completely? Or that you hate using too much?

I just never use it, I do not like the taste.

I hate pepper too. Everybody else in my family loves it, but I just can't stand it.

Why hate Pepper? Pepper was hot!

Boooo! Boooo! Boooo!

I absolutely LOVE black pepper.... it is my favorite spice ever! :woohoo:

I don't like too much seasoning, either. A little is fine, but most folks put on way too much for me. I always ask now for unseasoned fries.

No pepper here either....My MIL stayed with us, just left today, and she asked for the pepper...oops..sorry don't have ANY...:lmao:

DH can't have it, it gives him horrible heartburn.

Ohhh man,

I thought my post spoke very clearly? :rotfl2:

not in my eyes...

this statement seems to portray a considerable dislike. Not something that could be overcome by limited intake amounts.

I LOVE pepper. I have a bunch of different kinds and put it on just about everything.

I enjoy pepper, but DH really doesn't care for it. I can sneak a little pepper into some things, but I can't go nuts. I wait until I dish out my own food and add more pepper to that (if I want more).

Yeah, I hate pepper too, and anything else that is spicey, or excites the senses, or is exciting. I'm all for bland! And while I'm at it, I don't like colors either... everything should be in black and white... oh and don't even get me started about emotions... who needs those? I say we keep life, bland, tasteless, textureless, predictable and totally monochrome. :sad2:

I hate pepper too. I also hate cilantro, tastes like soap to me. I will pick it out of my food if I even taste a little in it. :crazy2:

Cilantro is so gross. :crazy2: It tastes like Christmas trees to me, not that I've ever actually tasted a Christmas tree. :confused3

I love pepper. I put it in almost everything, and most you would never know it's in there. Moderation is the key :)

Black pepper hater here too! :crazy2: DH and DS14 love black pepper, though.
