Well, I know of the women you are all referring to and I do think it is pretty revolting. BUT.....I am having a real hard time trying to find some clothes. Went on a shopping trip yesterday

and it was not pretty.
Now, I am 40 years old, 5'7" and weigh about 145 lbs. I am not fat, nor am I considered skinny. According to my friends I look about 35. I am not interested in wearing low-rise jeans, skimpy shirts, layered camisoles under a "baby" polo shirt, etc.
That was all I could find. In addition to that, I cannot find a T-shirt that will make it down to the waist of my pants, so whenever I bend over half my back hangs out. And while I'm not fat, I do have a small "roll" on my stomack and it DOES NOT LOOK GOOD in low-rise jeans.
And have you been to Banana Republic? The clothes there are cute but the material is so thin/sheer that if you've got one ounce of fat on your body, it will clean to it.
As for the girl in the home improvement show--I feel her pain. I am broad shouldered and broad around the ribcage. You know those blouses/shirts that are called "stretch"? You know they are either long sleeve or 3/4 quarter sleeve and they are a cotton lycra mix. Not one will fit me. They are squeezing my arms like a vice and they are pulling across my chest so everyone can see my bra. Now, I wear a 36/38 B cup. Please. I look at the people who do wear them and they have these nice little tiny arms and narrow shoulders.
So, while some people might not care what they look like, others are forced to wear things they shouldn't. I spent 3 hours in the mall yesterday looking for clothes appropriate to wear in my office. I ended up with 7 T-shirts for Old Navy. NOTHING for work.
Just ticks me off. Clothes just feel like they are made cheaply now. And it shows.
