Hi all, my name is Eoin and I am new here. I was just wondering. I am planning on booking my upcoming disney trip through CAA and was wondering what the different payment options were like. I won't be able to pay for the trip in full right away but would like to at least put a down payment on it when I book. Also, do we have to have it fully paid for before the trip or can we pay for some of it after the trip? any helo would be appreciated. thank you in advance

all you have to do now is put the 200$ US deposit. the rest can be pay as your will. as long as its paid off in full by the 75 day mark.

great if you plan on going at a later date.

remember that booking with caa any changes you do has to be done by them.

If it's a package reservation, you have to pay in full 45 days prior to arrival. I think if it's a room only reservaion, it's a couple days prior, but that is only a guess. We booked through CAA this time, our payment is due Aug 1st, arrival Sept 15th. As the previous poster said, any changes that need to be made , has to be done with CAA. I especially liked booking through them this time as it is easy for me to pay cash (they want payment in US dollars, same if you book directly with Disney) and they send it to Disney , instead of paying the extra exchange % rate on my credit card. Have fun planning!!

It seems to me that if you look on the Maritime Travel website, you will see something about - Travel now, Pay later. I have never checked it out , but it might be an option for you.

45 day mark.

Be advised that CAA charges a booking fee of $50 per person.

I would advise you to book it yourself through Disney. They require a $200 deposit at the time of booking and the balance is due 45 days before arrival. You can make payments along the way if you choose. That is for a package. If you book a room only you have to pay a deposit that is the cost of the first night. The balance is due at check-in.

I booked my trip with CAA. The cost was exactly the same as it would have been if I had booked with Disney directly, I didn't pay a $50 per person booking fee, nor did we get an additional discount because we got free dining. I don't like that CAA owns the reservation, but I have had no problems dealing with them. I went with CAA instead of Disney directly to get the preferred parking, and the storytime in the Magic Kingdom.

We booked with CAA and there was no per person booking fee. I know because I asked beforehand.

I priced out out trip this year with CAA and they gave me a higher price than the WDW website. When I asked about it they told me they charged the booking fee....:confused3

There are a lot of other TA's that will book without a booking fee, even Disney Specialist's, not everyone charges a fee. :goodvibes

CAA does not charge a booking fee to book a Disney Package. If you have an agent that is you need to ask for a manager!!!

To the OP, a package must be paid for by 45 days prior. If by credit card the 45th day is okay....if any other method it should be paid for a few days earlier to make sure Disney receives the cheque payment from CAA on time.

I would just mention to be sure you do your homework, not all CAA agents are familiar with WDW booking and their promos/discount codes. So I would look on the WDW site and price out your room only or package on the WDW site, then get a quote from the CAA agent. Also monitor mousesavers.com regularly to see when new WDW discounts come out. Your CAA agent may not know.
I prefer to use a WDW specialist TA. They know when WDW comes out with new discounts, and will automatically adjust your reservation to get you the lower rate. Not all CAA agents know to do this. There are quite a few WDW TA agencies: Ears to You, Mouse Fan Travel, Dreams Unlimited to name a few. They don't charge a booking fee.

This is a very good point.....I would just add there are are some CAA agencies who do have Disney specialists who are very knowledgeable in all promos etc, who do book dining and continously monitor for deals even after the booking is complete....some of them even go to Disney themselves 4 or 5 times a year!!! :thumbsup2

There are also many Canadian Travel Agencies that have Disney Specialists, so you could try some of them. It is always nice if you can use a Canadian agency. :goodvibes

This is true, I know one on another board who is very knowlegable. But I live on the west coast, so it's been my experience that the TA's here are very knowlegable about DL, but not so much with WDW. I once got a price quote from my local CAA for WDW that was hundreds more than what I found on the WDW web site. :confused3
