People waiting in line say the darndest things!

Not so much a comment as an experience:

A family of 4 are waiting in line for Big Thunder Mountain. DS 6 is very content to be riding while his older brother is throwing a fit...and I mean a fit! He is crying and saying that he doesn't want to ride over and over again. DM and DD kept telling the DS that he will LOVE it and they want him to ride it! People are looking at them and even a CM asks the DM if the boy is okay...to which she responds, "Oh, he's just fine." What mean parents!!!!

OH YEAH......THAT WAS MY FAMILY!!!

Yep, he rode it.....Yep, he LOVED IT!!! We rode it a total of 5 times that day!!!

Been there, done that. You left off the peeling of the fingers from the railing as we moved through the que. And, yes, he loves every single roller coaster he can get on. The bigger, the better. I may have looked mean to others, but he learned a very valuable lesson that day. He now tries everything I tell him he'll like because he knows I wouldn't tell him to try something if I thought he wouldn't love it.

Mine is what my DD 3 at the time told me on her first trip last year. We were watching the MK parade and we were up front when the parade came by and she told me after seeing it that she didnt need to watch her movies anymore cause all her friends (the characters) were here. I just thought that was so cute

This is about my son - Last August when we went to Animal Kingdom my 6 year old yelled "Mom, I see Rafreaky, can we go see Rafreaky" even when we were in line to see Rafiki I kept telling him how to say it correctly but he did not get it. When we got up to the character, my son said, "Hi Rafreaky" and the character gave him a high five!

Actually doesn't surprise me We were in the shop at Philadelphia airport buying a magazine and the lady serving asks where we're from. We smile and say England, to which she replied "Oh cool, well au revoir! That's goodbye right?" We just looked at each other blankly and nodded, muttering 'yes, in french' under our breath as we left.

I have a pretty funny story, but it comes from Busch Gardens. We were in line for a water ride there and there was really bad weather heading towards the area (hurricane season) so they'd started to close a lot of the rides. Upon hearing that we'd be waiting a very long time for the rafts to open back up, a man in front of us decided to leave the line. Instead of leaving the line in a normal way, he decided that jumping over the railings would be much better.

Sadly for him, he didn't quite anticipate their full height, so he jumped with an arrogant smile, hit the top rail and fell backwards onto the ground. It certainly provided some entertainment for those of us waiting!

On another note, some people seem to think that everyone comes to Disney with amazing knowledge of all the workings of the place, which is just not true. When I hear people who are confused about what FP is or which park an attraction is in, I don't find it particularly amusing, I just remember my first trip!

Mom and I were sitting at Tusker House last year. 2 Boys ( brothers)
about 10-12 years old started punching each other. The younger one started to get mad and he told his mom what had happened. The mom with the straightest face said " STOP fighting. We are at WDW this is the HAPPIEST place on Earth. Get control."
Mom and I just started laughing. The rest of the trip when one of us would get annoyed with the other we would say " this is the happiest place on Earth get control."

LOL! In our family we say "Sit down and SHARE THE JOY!" It's from an old episode of the sit-com "Family Ties." The mother planned a trip so they could all share the joy of family togetherness, but no one was happy. Finally she yelled, "Now sit down and share the joy!" It does diffuse tension though.

My sister-in-law had a good one on her first visit to WDW. She had come down with my nephew, who DH took to the parks while I took her for a tour of the hotels and Fort Wilderness so we didn't have to buy a park ticket. That involved boats and buses and we also took the monorail to Epcot just for the heck of it. Finally on one of the boat rides she said, "Let me pay for this one." She actually thought I was paying for all the "rides"!

Mine is only funny in retrospect, but at the time, it was quite annoying. We were on the monorail after a rather long day in August, and we were sharing a cart with a family that had two couples, each with several kids. The one woman asks the other as we pass McDonald's, "How much do you reckon that McDonald's costs?" She had quite the twang to her voice, and I'm from Mobile, Alabama, so a country accent doesn't often turn my head.

The other woman can't hear her over the children. So the former repeats: "How much do you reckon that McDonald's costs?"

This goes on at least four times, and she phrases it exactly the same way each time: "How much do you reckon that McDonald's costs?"

Oh Lord, I was ready to come unglued. I wanted to stand up and shout the question to make sure her friend heard! I minded my manners though. My husband and I still ask each other this question whenever we pass a McDonald's!

Yep, I live near the welsh border, it's just easier saying England than Britain for this reason. I usually get asked if I know 'so-and-so who lives in York' or something or if I know the Queen!

I have to add my story. I keep telling it to all my family and friends and they think it is just too funny. While rushing to get to the monorail from Epcot my family get separated... not enough room. I am adding this to the story so you know how crowded the monorail is it. After we board and take off my DD12 looks at me and asked if Jon Gosselin was riding with us. I kid you not it was his twin.... maybe this was the original reason I looked harder at a fellow monorail rider than usual. He and his friend were standing up (they were dads not just some young kids) and were talking about the great time they had drinking all that tequilla. Yes they were very drunk. Anyway the Jon Gosselin guy keeps walking over and leaning on the monorail doorts. The monorail stops and give the please step away from the door message. The guy moves away the monorail starts and then he walks over to it again. The cycles continues 8 times. Finally after the monorail stops for the 9th time the guy walks over to the doors and tries to pry them apart. He asks his friend to help him. He says they didn't pay all that moneu to stay at the GF only to have the monorail stop every 2 minutes. Another guy, not with the group, tell the drunk Jon Gosselin guy that someone keeps leaning on the door (in a very sarcastic tone...we all know who is leaning). The Jon G. guys asks the man who is leaning he'll kick his a*s. My DD12 was hysterical. I'm not sure if it was what he said or the fact that she still thinks it was Jon Gosselin.

This past Sept my family went with a bunch of friends. There were 6 adults and 6 kids total. Our refrain for the entire week was, "This is the happiest place on Earth. Act like it!!"

I am absolutely certain that me and my child (5) provided some eye rolling moments for some guests (and a photographer). I'd just paid for both my girls to have the BBB package. I'd brought dresses - big, fluffy, pink dresses - from home. By the time we got done with the primping and over to the photographer my youngest was balling because the dress was itchy. I understood. I promised her we'd fix it as soon as her pictures were done. I believe my exact phrase was, "You can't smile and cry at the same time!" but she was already on a roll. It took 15 minutes of balling - her and I - before she calmed down enough to turn on the charm. She was adorable in the pictures and unless you'd seen her moments before you never would have known she'd had a complete and total meltdown. Five minutes later she had a t-shirt under the dress and was happy as a clam. Sigh.

The best part is after you manage to say "Nine o'clock, sir," with a straight face, then they say "Are you sure?!"

When I was CP/CT the other CPs and CTs who worked Sunday nights with me [to the non-CMs, Sunday night is the time that anyone with any seniority tries to get off, so it's always the temp people and college students who work then because they don't get to pick their shifts] used to joke about getting shirts made that said "The Sunday Night Crew: Is it getting dark yet?" after the dumbest question any of us (me) was ever asked.

Our best one was - my littlest DD6 - said -that man is going to be in BIG trouble with his mummy - that man was a Hell's Angel type so I'm a little worried, but asked why

"because he drawed all over his arms with pen, his mummy will be cross with him"

Just yesterday we were waiting in line to meet Flick, chatting with a CM and he asked my dd if she knew who Flick was "yes, and some of those bugs play my Mom's favorite music - which ones are those Mom?" "You mean the Beatles Becky?" The CM cracked up.
