People mover refurb announced!

We love the People Mover and were there in February when it was originally supposed to go down for refurb. My guess is that it needs some TLC. There were a couple of times where the ride was closed due to maintenance issues. One time when we were going to ride it, it was closed and we looked up and the poor people on the ride were walking along the tracks to get off. It had gotten stuck with everyone on it and they couldn't get it moving again.

Well, be missing it next trip, however it does need a little refurb. I wish they would have done it sooner though! Oh well, it'll be that much better when it returns.

Well, if it's true there are no more real slow times, it's always going to be a bad time to close a ride.

My sentiments exactly. So during the peak of summer they have Astro Orbiter down at the same time as the PeopleMover is not exactly a bright move. TTA is a high capacity ride. So now they have not one, but two things closed, in mid summer, with schools on vacation, both of which are suitable for the entire family (ok count me out of the Astro Obiter, but that's not the point).

We're going to be there about the same time then. We are there until July 8th. I agree, AA is a low capacity, but I was thinking more in terms of proximity to the TTA/PeopleMover. Ugh! Rehabs. Who'd have 'em?!

Ironically, and I am chuckling as I type this, I tried to reassure my DD that there were advantages to having to go in the summer now because fewer things would be closed. Now I'm trying to dig myself out of that hole because we have the above, plus FOTLK which hopefully we will just manage to catch if it opens on time and we are living on a hope and a prayer that we will see the Jamming Jungle Parade one last time, having missed it the last couple of years .....

People mover is closed from May 3 to July 1 for a refurbishment.

Astro orbitor is closed May 3 thought August 20.

I'm curious to see what they'll do??

Bummer! We really love the People mover...Guess I'll have to figure out another way to rejuenvate while keeping the kiddos entertained.

Allears is wrong. The PeopleMover is currently open. The ride did not go down for refurb as originally scheduled. Disney pushed the date back to correspond with the start of the Astro Orbiter refurb.

YEA!!! I'm going to be there next week and I thought the TTA was going to be closed!! We love it!!
