Just received my People magazine in the mail. Of course, on the cover are Tom-Kat and the whole "It's a Girl" thing. Also, there are photos of Gwyneth and her baby as well as The Donald and Melania Trump's baby.

Poor Brooke Shields was left out in the cold. What the heck was People magazine thinking!? They could do the whole Tom-Kat baby, who was born on the same day as Brooke's baby ... but didn't do Brooke's!? Give me a break!!!! However, People did mention Brooke briefly in the Tom-Kat article ... "In an only-in-Hollywood twist, Brooke Shields, who last year sparred with Cruise over her use of medication to treat postpartum depression, delivered her own new-born g irl down the hall from Holmes the very same day." What is up w/that?! We cover Tom-Kat (who are so annoying at this point) and we skip Brooke? I'm more interested in Brooke than Tom-Kat!

Gwenyth is darling in jeans and a black sweater, just hanging out w/her two kids. On the other hand, Melania is hanging out ... of her dress! I'm surprised one of those puppies didn't escape.

Meanwhile, Melania is "pushing" a gold baby carriage, complete w/photos of herself and Donald on the side and a chandelier!!! What is up w/that? And, she's pushing the baby carriage in the apartment. She's dressed in a white sun dress and 3" heels. I suppose the baby never pukes on her? In the article, it talks about how Melania takes care of him w/a bit of help from a baby nurse. Must be nice. There's also a quote that reads "I feed him, I change him ..." For some reason, I cannot see her preparing a baby bottle at 3 am! My bet is the help prepares the bottle and hands it to her. Then, get this quote ... "Some women want the husband to do half the chores" says Trump, smiling. "That's not Melania - fortunately for me." No kidding -- you have a staff to do the chores! Who is he trying to kid?! DO you really think he lifts a finger? You really think Melania is cooking and cleaning that place as well as taking care of the baby?! When would she have time for manicures, pedicures and shopping -- not to mention her workouts to get back into "model shape"? However, Trump states he does not change diapers. Boy, do I sound surprised!?

Anyway, there's also an article on Joely Fisher's new daughter, True (again, w/the wierd names).

Poor Brooke Shields was nowhere to be seen. :confused3

I say they did her a favor. These magazines use their personal lives to make money, if I were her, I would prefer my personal business to be kept as much out of the limelight as possible.

Brooke Shields always seemed to me to be a classy woman, who probably was never really thrilled to be included in all the Tom Cruise crap to begin with.

She may be enjoying the exclusion in this case...any chance to NOT be included with stuff about "TomKat" is probably a welcomed relief.

I hate when celebrities try to make it seem like motherhood is the same for them as it for us commoners.

I once saw Sarah Jessica Parker interviewed, they were asking her what suggestions she could give her fans about juggling motherhood and work. She was very candid when she said she was extrememly blessed in that she had help with everything from taking care of the baby to getting her figure back to its pre-pregnancy shape, and that any advice she were to give her fans would not be applicable. I always admired her for telling it like it is rather than make out like she is just like the rest of us.

I would also bet that Brooke is just fine with it. I'm going to have to get the new people. The Melania story sounds funny. It wouldn't surprise me a bit if she spent only an hour a day with the baby.

Yes, let's ask a millionairess how does she balance a family and work...????

I'd much rather ask the lady who does the night shift at WalMart and a day shift at McDonald's with three children and a low life husband trying NOT to pay child support. I know more of HER than of them...

BTW, lucky Brooke for not having the microscope on her and on those other fools.

ITA w/you on all aspects of your post! I would like to hear more about Brooke b/c she is far more classier than Tom-Kat and would prob. be more "truthful" than Melania was. I'll be more interested to see photos of Brooke's children than those other yahoos.

FYI--the baby carriage complete with chandelier (and the taped on photos of mom and dad if you look very carefully) was a gift from Ellen Degeneres (sp?).

I think it is funny actually---given the source of the gift and the recipient.
They were posed for ALL the photos. At first I saw the pic and thought---how ostentatious (sp?), then I saw the caption and looked closer at the photo and was :rotfl2: . I would have loved to see Ellen give that gift to the Trumps.

As far as Brooke--yeah that does suck!

But do you notice the date of the mag--it was on newstands TWO days after the birth--but it is the MAY FIRST EDITION! A heck of a lot can happen between now and May 1st----this was not that earth shattering of an event. In all liklihood--in the rush to publish about the new TomKitten (with Gwynneth and the Trump baby just sitting and waiting for that stork visit so that they could get their moment)--in all liklihood--maybe Brooke hadn't delivered yet (she was a c-section--so who knows when that took place or if the People even cared)....and in the rush to print, that is how Brooke got left out.

I agree shame on people for that one.

Who cares who gave it to them ... that they're even showing it off is just obnoxious! If it were me, I'd be so embarrassed by it that I'd hide that thing in a closet!!!! And, yes ... the photos were so posed. At least Gwyneth's were more natural!

No -- the article clearly mentioned Brooke having her baby the same day as Katie did in the Cruise article. They didn't have to have baby photos ... b/c they sure didn't for Tom-Kat ... they could have given Brooke a single page like they did for Joely Fisher's child!? A nice article w/something like Brooke having a little girl, her name (Grier), weight, how excited Chris Henchy and big sister Rowan are, blah, blah, blah along w/a 3/4 of the page photo of pregnant Brooke. Heck ... Fisher's page was a 3/4 photo and 1/4 article. They could've done the same for Brooke.

My guess would be that Tom Cruise wouldn't give his permission for the photos if he was in the same magazine as Brooke - (remember they are feuding). And for some goofy reason, Tom Cruise's baby would sell more magazines than that of the classy Brooke.

I think Brooke is a big girl and can take care of herself. She at least has access to proper PPD meds if necessary.

And from last week's people--she's getting a nanny this time around.

I still think the carriage is funny.

If I were Brooke, I'd be happy not to be included in the debacle that is Tom Cruise.

You raise a good point!

Hopefully Brooke does get to grace the magazine soon.

I do think it is silly to come to the defense of a celebrity. We moan when they whine that they don't want to be followed---and then we moan when they aren't followed enough to our satisfaction as if we are entitled to their every move. Maybe she just doesn't care one way or the other. :confused3 Maybe People has something planned. They've given them a few weeks head start--maybe they want to do a "quality" article on her. :confused3

Um...Just because the Trumps have money, does not make them bad parents.

Sure they have probably oddles of help, but so do MANY other celeb & wealthy couples.

It's not my business if they are up 6 times a night, or have a nanny do it. How you raise your kids is your own business & concern (unless there is abuse involved).

I think they were just posing with some gifts in the pictures. People who watch Ellen's show, (which is where I am assuming they got the carriage) are probably happy to see it included in the pictures, as is Ellen I am sure.
