IMO we use the term terrorism too freely, this guy was a nut job, period.

Continuing to banter about it often does more harm than good.

You mean two women married the nutjob? Amazing.
Worse, the second one had a kid with him. I also wouldn't buy if she claims that she didn't know what he was up to. The families always claim that after the fact.

Honestly, it's pointless to keep talking about this. The FBI and local authorities are doing their investigation; a crappy magazine and a bunch of people on a message board aren't going to come to any better or speedier of a conclusion.

As an Orlando resident I just want to grieve. I'm sick of reading stories every other day where someone hypothesizes something new about this guy. All that matters is that we lost 49 people. Many of whom were friends of our friends. Sure, tell me it's about freedom of speech or whatever, but this speculation does nothing to help us recover.

As long as we sit here and do nothing about the violence and hate and intolerance that breeds daily in our society - this will always be a topic of conversation.... And sadly it will always be relevant. People are scared. This, the possibility of this happening at Disney or anywhere, is becoming an inaleinable truth. But it doesn't have to be.

Anyway - it is all just so sad.

What a disappointing thing to read. Yes, he was a nut job - but he was also a terrorist. The definition of a terrorist, actually: his actions were politically motivated. He acted in retaliation for the war in the Middle East, and to smite people his twisted religion say deserve death. The guy was even on the FBI's radar.

I agree with this, but it's a tough nut to crack. The simplest thing would be to round up the Muslims and deport or intern them, but this is supposed to be a free country and I wouldn't want to see something that severe done. There has to be a happy medium somewhere that will work with our laws.

That's fighting hate and intolerance with more hate and intolerance. Intern people based on their religion? Seriously? You realize that has happened before and didn't end well, no? Kinda missed the point with that statement.

We don't know why he did what he did, he reportedly used words used by others but he also had other issues.

Round up the Muslims? That would be the simplest thing?!

How nice for you that you are not a Muslim American citizen and can make such blanket statements without fear for your family and friends being sent away for something an extremist of your descent did.

The Orlando shooter was a US citizen. Sandy hook shooter? US citizen. Timothy Mcvey? US citizen. Guy who shot up Planned Parenhood? Christian US citizen.

Let's not get political please.

Did you read the "I wouldn't want to see something that severe done" part? This is a discussion, and that is an extreme. Clearly something has to be done.
