Don't listen to them. Since DD was born, we have only cruised once alone and it was on Celebrity. But it was amazing.
At this stage in my life, I would not take a Disney Cruise without my DD, namely because this is a "once in a long time" trip for us that it stretching our budget. But we are celebrating a big birthday of mine and our 10 year anniversary, so we are doing it. But its probably the only one we will take for a long time, so there is no way I can leave my DD behind. She would never forgive me. I think Minnie was one of her first words, seriously. As a matter of fact, when she grows up, she either wants to be a doctor (like Doc McStuffins) or Minnie Mouse. She has big goals of course, since she is 4.
But if you can afford to go twice, go. It is your money, your vacation time and your memories, no one else needs to be involved in it.
Although I have not been on a Disney Cruise, I have been on plenty of cruises and I have always found plenty to do. DCL might have a family focus, but from what I hear (and will see in a few days) they have a lot of adult activities. Plus, you can go to the movies or see a show or DO WHATEVER YOU WANT. And not have to worry about anyone being bored, hungry, tired or whatever.
