Our family is going to WDW the 2nd week of June. As soon as I tell people when we are going I always get a negative comment such as it will be hot and crowded. Why are you going then?

Is June really going to be that bad? I live in the southeast so heat and humidity is nothing new to us.

We have our plan as to which parks to visit when, which rides to hit early in the day, be there a rope drop, use fast pass, etc.

So what am I missing that this is going to be such a bad trip for everyone to react in such a negative manner?

they are jealous!
really, i am going the first week of june. i know it will be hot. i know it will be crowded. but i am prepared for it. as long as you know what you are getting into you will be ok. my first trip i went was right after 4th of july. i got really nervous because i booked and then found out it would be swamped. i am formerly from ohio, i was thinking cedar point. with 2 and 3 hour wait times. i walked away going "that wasn't that busy!". just prepare yourself, ignore negative people. ask them in return "why are you trying to ruin my vacation?" might just get them to shut up.

I went that time last year and it wasn't that bad. It was crowded, but we never waited more than 20 minutes for a ride (use of FastPasses and getting there at Rope Drop). We also got a front row spot for Spectro right at 9 pm in Frontierland and only waited about 20 minutes for the parade to get to us, rather than the 2 hours to claim your spot I have seen on this board.

Just be prepared and you'll be fine.

IMO, people are so quick to talk or point out anything negative. The summer is a crowded time to go because that's when it's most convenient for families with children who are out of school.

Yes, it will be hot, but if you are already used to it then you should be fine. That's what the water rides are water parks are for!!

Have a great time, and don't let anyone try to rain on your parade!!

Just ignore them.
Eveyone has a different opinion.
Aways take negative comments with a "grain of salt."
Lots of guests go and enjoy their trips at that time.
Others sometimes like to offer opinions, just to appear "smarter."
Usually they don't even have actual experience to draw upon.
Stay optimistic.
You will have a great trip!

Ignore those nay sayers, their just jealous of you going and their not!! We have always gone during the July 4th week. Yep it's hot and humid, but since your use to it, not to worry. The summer is when I like to go the best, call me crazy, but that's when I like to go. Park hours are longer, check the EMH for each park, and going to the late parade show, hardly anyone is there to watch it. As I've said, the summer time is when I like to go.

We have always gone at Christmas and Easter, this year we are going June 11-20... How much less crowded will it be???

I went around June 18 to 23 a couple of years ago with my then 12 year old niece. It was the first time I went during the summer and was worried too. It was hot, we always took an afternoon break back at the hotel. We managed the crowds by using fastpass to full advantage. Hit the popular rides first thing in the morning. Plan for indoor attractions to take a rest out of the sun (Country Bears, Hall of Presidents, Epcot movies). We did everything we wanted to.

If it is any help to you, I have been at many different times of the year and I have had a great time EVERY TIME!!!!!. I know you will too!! Besides, June is better than July or August!!! It's better to be there when it is hot and crowded than to not be there at all. Have a wonderful trip!!!

To the OP..You are so much ahead of the game than some visitors who do no research prior to presenting themselves at WDW to be entertained. :goodvibes

Go early, know what your "must do's" are, plan for rests, take advantage of FP--you know, all the great advice that Dis-Pros give really can make a difference in the quality of experience you have at WDW:wizard:

Have fun:flower3:

It doesn't matter what time of year you tell them you are going you will get the same reaction from someone who has never been, didn't enjoy it if they went, and some who are just plain clueless.

We went in Sept and knew it would be hot and crowded. We still had the most fabulous time. We knew what it would be like from these boards and planned accordingly.

We also went over Christmas. You should of heard the people telling me we were crazy. BUT we went and we loved it. We didn't do the parks commando but took our time and went somewhere else each day around 10-11 when it started to get super busy and came back after 7pm when it was slowing down again.

I've been in August and didn't melt...

It's Central Floriday..it's supposed to be hot in summerpirate:

I agree with a PP - they are jealous!

It's not going to be too hot and if you are used to the weather, than there is nothing to worry about.

People forget that the weather does not even impact the magical time you will have.

Enjoy your trip with your family!

When we went in June, it rained some every day, and it was too hot for us.

I have never gone in June, but have gone in July. I never had much of a problem with the heat or humidity. In fact, it's a lot hotter in the World and more humid than where I live and I was far less miserable there than at home.

I do believe that June is rather busy compared to the times I prefer to travel, but you should be fine. The last time I was during the summer was pre-FastPass time and we were able to complete a lot. In fact one day my sister and I had rode every ride in Future World, El Rio del Tiempo, and Maelsrtom all before 6 pm in July. Granted we walked pretty fast, but that's beside the point.

Regardless, you will have a great time, you may be a bit worm... but I don't know how people can go to the World and not have a great time.

(FYI: I went in January 4 years ago, every ride had under a 10 minute wait and there were still people complaining about the waits, while we were complaining about the weather: it was in the 40s!)

My dad, sister and nephew go every in June and have a GREAT time! Yes it will be hot and crowded but as you said, you are used to the heat. The parks are also open later than during other times of the year so you'll be able to take advantage of that by taking breaks back at the pool during the hottest times of day and heading back to the parks in the evening once it cools off a little. Bring rain ponchos and have fun. Everyone will be even more jealous once you get back and tell them what a fabulous time you had! LOL :)

Tell them to butt out. It's not their vacaction. :thumbsup2

OP... I have been in February (Presidents Week), March (Spring Break), April (Spring Break), June, August, and November (Jersey Week).... guess what... it is busy all the time.... so what.... PLAN PLAN PLAN... I use TGM and follow his best parks days and he has been right on the money every trip... we have 25 trips under our belts and I don't worry about the time of year... I go when it is convenient for us.... I would highly recommend subscribing to TGM... for the $20 you'll spend it is a drop in the bucket compared with the cost of your trip..... in any event... have fun

We went last year at that time and it was O.K. It was hot, but take advantage of the pools!:cool1:
