Penny press machines.. Do they cost 50 cents or $1.00 for each one ...and do they have them at the resorts too? Thanks! My kids are just starting a collection...

The penny presses are .50, the quarter presses are $1.00.

Get a mini M&M tube to keep your quarters and pennies in, stack them 2 quarters then 1 penny to fill up the tube, makes it much easier then having to dig through your change.

And yes, the resorts do have them.

Awesome! Thanks.. I was going to use a prescription pill jar , but the kids will love that idea!

Thanks for the info! I think my boys are going to do this! :cool1:

My kids really enjoyed getting the pennies. I found it helpful for DD (3) to look for the machines when she was to little for a specific ride. DD & DS shared the one book the first trip. Then a year and a half later on our last trip they did one again. Now both have the books beside their beds. We look at them often.

that would probably work too, I learned about the M&M tube idea here on the boards, unfortunately I forgot to get one before we left, funny though I found one in DS's room the other day that has probably been there for months, I put it aside in my "Disney Bag" for our next trip, when that will be, I don't know, but I am prepared :thumbsup2

Also, we use new bright pennies for the year we went, it is not as easy to find a roll of new pennies as you may think, I couldn't get them from my bank, I lucked out and got a roll at the convenience store on our way to the airport, so start looking of those pennies as early as you can if you prefer new ones.

My kids love looking through their books, they have them from another vacation that they keep adding too, but there are so many press penny machines in Disney that they are going to need another book. We will be in FL again in July, but in Tampa, I am going to try and get a day in at DTD to get some pins and buy some pressed penny books for the kids.

My DD (7 at the time) did this on our trip last April and loved it! She struck up several conversations with other people at the machines and enjoyed talking to them about the pennies she had that they didn't have and vice versa.

BTW, we stayed at CBR and she was talking to a CM at Guest Services there about her pennies and he printed out a list of all the penny press machines on property for us. I would imagine any Disney resort would do this for you, or possibly Guest Services in the parks. I just asked my DD10 about it and she remembers the printout as listed by character first and then location. Of course, it's fun just to look around and find them as you go which is pretty much what we did despite the list, but if there's a specific character your kids want and you'll be in the area, they'll enjoy getting them!

DS9 loves the penny presses! He has already filled up 3 books in only 12 park days! Hopefully he will be able to find some he doesn't already have! I have decided to type up an alphabetized list of the pennies we DO have so we can avoid having to page thorugh the big master list. I know in October the machine in the big shop at Toon Town was broken, as were several others. We also wanted to make ONE quarter - the HCOE one in the train station at MK - and that was broken, too! Maybe we'll be able to get some we missed on previous trips and find a neat quarter in August! :sunny:
