Penny Pinching Mickey Style!

We changed all our coppers and £2 coins we've been saving today. Came to just under £300 which was $440

Thats great! That's alot towards your holiday.

Hopefully I'll be able to add some more coins to mine later today. I have to do a quick 'essential' shop on the way home so any change will go in to my WDW fund! BF thinks Im mad, but if he won't consider WDW until 2015 I have to get there another way with all my change.

Beans on Toast might be on the menu for a few nights a week from now on!:rotfl2:

:cool1:I banked £400 today.

It was a combination of stuff I have sold on Facebook and money from selling my cakes. I have just counted up the pound coins in the pot and there is over £100 in there to bank too.

Another tip - never knowingly pay full price for anything! Use sites like hotukdeals and vouchercloud before you buy anything from a TV to lunch.;)

£10 on Ebay and a couple of £2 coins - slowly slowly catchy monkey :lmao:

Ebay is killin me! Its almost painful - Just not sure I can stomach a boot fair!!!

I doubt we will manage to get sorted for a boot fair this side of Christmas. Think we will wait, then can psych ourselves up for it in the late spring!!

SO another £20 added this week, which although not alot is slowly adding to my pot.

am about half way to my PP+

At this rate I should get my PP+ and the fishing trip! :thumbsup2

I do a few things to save money for our trips. I use reward sites and get US gift cards. We started in October last year and by our trip this October we will have made around $1000. (If you want more information on that PM me)

I also buy and sell Limited Edition Disney items and have made about $2000 since January. If all goes well this month, I'll make enough to pay off next years trip. Most of the items sell to US buyers so money is already in USD in our Paypal and we transfer it into a Disney savings account.

I collect my change as others have mentioned too but our biggest saver this year has been changing the way we shop.

We used to spend around £130 a week on grocery shopping and I decided that I was going to get that down to a maximum of £80. I started paying close attention to coupons and what we were spending our money on and now we only buy what we need for the week and spend the rest on "stock pile" stuff which is on some sort of deal. I have cut our weekly shop down to £80 a week and now have a stock pile of stuff that we got for half price or less that will last us way beyond our holiday. We won't need washing power, washing up liquid, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, deoderant, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner or canned goods until 2014! It's amazing how much money we were wasting. The extra £50 is saved and used to buy USD.

We want to do a couple of boot sales soon too, we just never seem to get around to it.

Do you buy the items in Disney? And bring them home? I remember one year we bought 2 Lord of the Rings monopoly games for $10 sold them on Ebay for £30 each!! I always on the look out for things when we are away.

hi guys, not sure if anyone uses mysupermarket.com but it's been brilliant for me, there is an app as well, so if you look up items you would normally buy it tells you which supermarket is cheapest, what deals are on each day etc, I've been stocking up ok things when I spy a bargain , some items you even get cash back into your PayPal if you send them a photo of the receipt, like this week bottles of coke zero & walkers crisps have full cash back. just a thought & hope it helps.

Another £6 chucked in my tin today! Used some found club card vouchers on shopping so put what I saved in the pot!

I've been taking a close watch on our shopping too! No more luxury expensive brands, just buying what we need! We've also started using our local butcher instead of Tesco & it's amazing the deals he'll do for £20! Our freezer is full of meat no need to shop in Tesco for expensive cut of lamb anymore!

We have a pot in the spare room we have started putting any change that we have in it and we have sold a few things and the money has gone straight in there. We now have £119 in it :) will go towards the taxi and drinks at the airport.

No, we don't generally buy in the parks to sell, we buy a lot of limited edition stuff from the Disney Store website. I haven't bought anything at the parks and sold it but it can be done. In fact, there is a business that does exactly that. They are a FL based business that buys stuff at the parks and ships it to people who can't get to the parks themselves.
