A word of warning to those who book a savanna view room at Kidani: the Pembe and Sunset savannas are completely different in quality. The Pembe savanna has only a small amount of land bordered by an ugly chain link fence fence, and no giraffes or zebras. The Sunset savanna has a big amount of land, with giraffes, zebras, ankole cattle and other animals roaming it throughout the day.

I arrived on Monday night, and was given a room on the Pembe savanna, so requested a change immediately (I just called the number on the "Your room is ready" text to request a room change). I had to wait until the next day to get the room changed, but because it's a resort-heavy trip, it was totally worth it. The Sunset savanna view was 100% better. It's a shame that Disney charges the same for both types of savanna view given the stark difference in quality.

Thanks so much. I have an upcoming trip to Kidani, and I was planning to request the wing closer to Jambo. Hopefully, that will keep me away from the Pembe Savannah.

I requested (and got) the Pembe Savanna once because I wanted to see Okapi and Red River Hogs from the balcony.
I absolutely love watching the Red River Hogs! We had a blast one year when we were on the section of Pembe with families of baby Red River Hogs. The babies were so entertaining, made our vacation.

A word of warning to those who book a savanna view room at Kidani: the Pembe and Sunset savannas are completely different in quality. The Pembe savanna has only a small amount of land bordered by an ugly metal fence, with only a few very simple animals on it. The Sunset savanna has a big amount of land, with giraffes, zebras, and many other unique animals roaming it throughout the day.

I want to see giraffes, so this is why I will never book a savanna view at Kidani. I don't want to risk it. (I stayed in a 2-bedroom savanna view at Kidani once, but that was before I knew there were two different savannas. We lucked up and got a wonderful lower floor room facing the Sunset Savanna, but I'm generally not a very lucky person so I won't chance it again.)

Cool. Glad that some people enjoy Pembe.
