Pelican Plunge

I 2nd that!!! I came flying off that thing and salt water went straight up my nose, it was gross!!!!

I would say the water is pretty deep, I'm 6' tall and I was no where close to being able to touch the bottom!

It depends on how high the tide is… :D it all varies.

I think they have you swim back and forth so you don't go on it as much. Another way to keep the line down.

Agree! In March, my DS12 went twice when there wasn't a line at all. After 2 times, he was kinda tired after all that swimming. And he's not a lazy kid-- he plays 3 sports and is in shape. He said it was fun but wore him out. He had more fun with the float rental :goodvibes

The thing to consider is why would you hit the bottom anyway? You come off the slide almost parallel to the water surface not dropping down into like off a high dive.

The put a big trench there so you don't hit the bottom no matter what the tide is.

Like that is ever going to happen. There are no real slow days a CC unless the ship is not docked. It will be even worse with the Dream.

When we went in June, we didn't venture out to the second beach (where PP is located) until after we played at the family beach. The second day of our double dip we went to PP first thing in the morning and spent a good hour with only one or two other families before a line started forming. They did let us duck under the rope but we were close to shore when we did it. The lifeguard on the sand (by the life vests) wasn't paying much attention to what we were doing.

Great info... Do you think PP is to much for a 3 year old who loves the water (life vest of course) or should we skip it.

Also, what other water activities are good for DD3- I would love to do the paddle boats or the water bikes but think you have to be 5 or I should say he has to be 5...:sad2:

I went on the paddle trikes (or whatever they are called) with my 8 year old and almost died. His legs were just an inch short of being able to pedal so I had to do all of the work. My legs felt like Jello afterwards.

Thanks for the great info. I told DS 7 he will have to wear a vest and even though he is still not thrilled it helped to see those pictures and how far he will have to swim and seeing how many people are wearing vests.

We were there in early August. My kids went to Pelican Plunge around 1:30 and the wait time was less than 5 min. 13 y/o liked it but was not amazed. 10 y/o hated it because water went up her nose-yes she tried to plug it but with going down fast her hand moved. They went in the enclosed slide. They had goggles with them that were the kind that you snorkle with so your nose is enclosed in the mask but they were told by Disney staff that they are not allowed-only the regular goggles are. No idea why. Older daughter had them on her head and put it over her face as she entered the tube so staff wouldn't notice and that worked. It was frustrating that they make you weave through the roped off crowd control maze when there was no line. I'm not impressed especially if your kids have been to other water parks.

Have you ever been to the Wisconsin Dells? How would these slides compare to any at the main water park resorts?
