PeepsII-The Hot, Sweaty Asian Strikes Back. Feb 2010. 12/2-Part 2 has begun.

I just got a notification that there was an update here. I didn't get one since yesterday so I missed everything. Jordan I love your poster, what a wonderful surprise. Great Biscuit must be a special person. The timing was wonderful too, you needed a surprise to cheer you up. How nice.

Laura, it was nice. the best kind of nice!

Aww, what a great surprise from GB!!! :cloud9:

Wendy, that party sounds like FUN!! I wish I knew enough people around here who cared about DCL to come to a party. :confused3 Not sure what's wrong with everyone around here! :lmao:

It was great surprise!

People don't get the Disney love transcends the Mouse.

I'm sitting here crying and laughing. All rolled into one.
GB- I've been blessed before with that calling to lift someone up.
Its the greatest feeling.

Can ya feel the love!!!

Tracy...It was an amazing gift....from GB and God.

Ah, that is awesome. So thoughtful. Jordan, I hope that you recieve clarity regarding this decision and do what your heart leads you to.

I put it out of my mind for the time being. I have too much going on right now.

Wow.

All I can say ... is Wow.

And my friends really, really don't get the DIS. They just don't understand how I can be "friends" with people on the internet over something like Disney.

They just simply don't understand that God's love shows through even on the internet.

On a sad day like today, I am very thankful to know that there are still people out there that go above and beyond for other people.

The DIS is full of people who put love first...(more than those mean people who were bashing you on the Community Board)

I forgot to add, for those you have not yet had the pleasure that is a Great Biscuit TR...

He is one AMAZING photographer. He does some seriously cool things with panoramic shots. Which only makes the poster that much more fantabulous!

Would totally agree with esquaredsmom. GB does some photog, but also does some pretty snazzy writing as well. Great descriptions and he's all over the funny in his musings.

Ok. So the sad thing is that I TOTALLY understood EVERYTHING you said here. I guess that makes me a geek/nerd. If you shorten that down, does that mean I'm a gerd? No, that's a disease. How bout a need? Nope. I'm only needed by my DW. I guess that makes me a nerk.:confused3
:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

You need to come over to eandesmom report and take the nerd test. :rotfl:

Then I suppose you're the wrong one to ask how to get rid of that tell-tale little extra url thingy in my siggie?? I'm afraid to touch anything, lest I lose any of my handy dandy, really cool link pictures...

usually that extra is exactly that if you went to edit signature you would probably find it.

it's kind of like this

I can't explain what I don't know....;):rolleyes1

I think I'll just leave it there as a reminder of how untechnically savvy I am. and how many times I DO NOT want to change my ticker again....

You’re very welcome my friend. But, don’t thank me, the thanks goes to God. Last week when I ordered this, He laid your name on my heart and I sensed that you needed encouragement, though I didn’t know why. When I read your post about the trip possibly being cancelled, it all made sense. How awesome it is to know that God knows our needs before we do and I am so honored He let me be a part of His blessing.

I know things get a little crazy at work sometimes. It is hard to explain to those on the outside just how unique the world of church ministry can be. It is on the one hand incredibly rewarding and fulfilling, but on the other completely draining and at times overwhelming. Having done full time, part time and now volunteer ministry, I know just how difficult it can be.

October was pastor appreciation month, but really we should be thanking ALL of our church staff for the hard work, time and effort they put in to make the ministries of the church run more smoothly and effectively. So Jordan, thanks for all you do. You’ll never know just how many lives you truly impact both at work and here on the Dis. Whatever path God leads you down, I know that you will be used mightily. I hope things work out for your trip and I have faith that whatever comes your way, you will find the joy that comes form serving Him. When it’s all crazy and life is spinning around, just remember that your happy place is only a dream away.

GB....I'm so proud to know people like you! :lovestruc

Hi ya Jordan! :wave2: I've seen you over at Ms. Cynthia's PTR, I just wanted to stop in and say hi, I'm catching up on all your reports, and thought I would come and give my support and have some fun! ;)

If I may, I wanted to make my .02 be known about church and ministry.....it's funny how God works things out for us, just last night I was with some of my dearest friends (that I met through a church I use to go to) having what I would call....... (well I'll just admit it) a gripe fest about said church due to a lot and I mean a lot
of people being treated badly by the heads & leaders of the church....couple of us sitting in the room were the one's who had been badly mistreated. :sad1:
Hearing the hearts of those who've been hurt for nothing more than just not wanting to deal with others issues (funny....I thought church is the place for worship and God's love to help those who are broken and want to turn their lives around for the better-especially through others who've already been there) because they didn't automatically fit into their mold. :sad1:
I tell you this not to bring you down....but as your fellow sister in God , I say this because you need to know how important good people, people who really care about other's are needed in the church to be all who God calls them to be.
Having read through almost all of your reports, I can see you are one of those people, Jordan! You have the heart and you care for others, you are exactly as God made you and there isn't anything more important.
Taking this job or not it doesn't really matter, just be all that God created you to be, and no matter what....don't change that to make others happy or to fit their "brand" of what kind of Christian they think you should be.
If you stay true..... there isn't anything that you can't do by co-laboring with the All Mighty, the Kingdom will be at your finger tips. :thumbsup2

Snuggle up to your Pa Pa tonight and let all this out with Him... ask Him to show you exactly what He wants you to do for a job.
Don't pick one because of the money, or it's the least stress, or because it's the easier job out of all the jobs you've been doing, but rather make your decision out of the intense love He has for you and in return you choose to do what He tells you out of your intense love you have right back for Him, and for no other reasons than that. You can't go wrong.
Be blessed, and thank you for sharing this wonderful journey your on.

How did you make that picture?? How did you create the poster?

I need to make one of those!

You definitely need to give it a shot! It’s fun and easy! You can always go out and spend lots of $$ on fancy cameras and equipment and they will do a great job. OR you can do what I did and use a regular digital point and shoot camera and a piece of free software.

First, the shoot. You need to take floor to ceiling photos for the entire area you wish to include. (And when I say floor to ceiling I mean LITERALLY floor to ceiling.) The more pics the better.

One you have them loaded on your hard drive, download and install the FREE Windows Live Photo Gallery. (Click the title to go to the download site.)

Once it is installed, launch the software. It will search for photos on your HD automatically and then create a directory tree on the left. Using the tree, path to the folder where your photos are stored.

Highlight all of the photos you want to include in your panoramic. (Hold down CTRL and click each one individually or if they are all together, click the first one, hold down shift, then click the last one.)

Right click on any of the selected photos, move your cursor to “Create Panoramic Photo” and left click.

It will take several minutes to complete, then popup a box asking you name the file.

Once it is name, you’ll get another progress bar for a couple of minutes, then the photo will appear in same folder as the pictures you used to create the
panoramic.

At this point it will be a little weird looking.

We still need to crop it. In most cases, the image will be too big to edit using Windows Live Photo. I use MS Office Photo Manger and it works great. BUT, if you don’t have that program installed, you can use another free program called Picasa to get er done.

Open Picasa, click on File, Add File to Picasa. Path to your new panoramic and it will show up on the Picasa file viewer.

Double click the picture to open it.

On the left Click the Tab that says Basic Fixes. Click on Crop (Top left option).

Click anywhere on the photo and hold down the mouse button. Drag your mouse to draw a box

Once it is drawn, click on any line and hold the mouse button to drag that line in or out. Anything outside of the box will disappear when you finish the crop. Once you have it set like you like it, click on apply.

Once it is done, save the file and you’re finished.

To make a poster, go to walmart.com. Click on Photos. Create an album and upload your pics. Under projects select Poster, Collage Poster. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Done.|

Wow! What an inspirational day. I'm sorry I missed out on the conversation.

Jordan - God is so good to see that you received that gift just at the time when you needed it most. As Wendy said, God is Good - All the time - love that song! :thumbsup2

Great Biscuit! - thanks for listening to the Lord, and that's a great poster!

Millie - I was so blessed by your words! That is exactly what we all need to do when faced with decisions - why do we try to "figure it out?"

You are all so caring and giving - I just want to hug everyone here!:grouphug:

Wendy, I don't know anyone around here who cares about Disney, well maybe a couple - so I didn't sign up for the house party - but it looks really fun! How cool that you got a box full of goodies. I can't wait to see the pics of your party!

I don't even know what a url is....:confused3

you two crack me up.

I'll make a lame attempt at laymans terms for Liesa as I KNOW it's bugging her. Not that I really know the real terms, ask GB or Underdog (love that...GERD...:lmao:)

When you put soemthing in a post, or your siggie that requires some kind of formatting or linking you "tell" it to do so with cues like "image","url", "http", "bold", "italic", "purple" and the like.

To do so its kind of like a shorthand code, telling it when to start whatever it is you want it to do, and then stop. So if I want something BOLD

I have to start it with

and end it with the same thing only you add a backslash (or is that a hack...help me out guys!) before the "B"

one of these

/

I can't actually type it or it will bold this whole amount of text!

At any rate, that extra that Liesa has is just that, extra. It doesn't have a start point to match to. Most likely if you look at your siggie you've got 2 of them next to each other OR the start point is missing a bracket. Like this

[url

see..no bracket on the end. Without that, the end point can't find the start.

Not sure if that helps or if that makes it worse.

You can also do some VERY cool collages on Snapfish and get them in poster size, usually with a promo code.
