I like them FRESH and here's my best tip that I chime in with every time this comes up:
Try them ROASTED ON A STICK over an open fire! They cook very quickly and the sugar browns. Let them cool for about 30 seconds and that sugar turns to a thin, crisp coating that is delicious!
