Ok folks, here's Pt. 3 of Jordan's TR... so you have somewhere to go while Jordan is OOP in the far east... :hourglass

I'll let him develop the ToC on this post when he returns (or maybe he'll just start it over and I'll rename this one and let it die a slow painful death).

Ha.

Here's the end of Part 2 should anyone want to hop on back there

Updated Chapter List:

Wendy, you are really kind to help me out since Jordan left. I hope he has a wonderful trip.

It is our big mistake that we only allowed ourselves 3 days, 4 nights. My DH still cannot imagine spending a week there, even though he loves Disneyland.

Lunch at Sci Fi is at 11.
What else is at MK that is not at DL that we would like? We walk to walk around and see the differences. But I hear you, we may like Epcot a lot and want to see more - so your idea of where to do that is very interesting.

(I am sorry this is messing up Jordan's thread since he isn't here now - should we move this to PM? - or maybe it can help others if it's here...)

I only have two more days to talk to you here and get this straightened out as we are traveling first. Really appreciate it! :upsidedow

Ok, DH will come to quickly realize the difference b/t DL and WDW. This figure has probably grown since I started quoting it (way back when), but at one point, DL was 60 acres in size, and WDW was 26,000 acres. So already you can see the vast difference b/t the two. Also, even though DL is becoming more of a "resort" destination, it really is just a 2-3 day venture, whereas you'll see you can easily spend a week or more at WDW between the parks, resorts, extra parks (water and whatnot) so you don't have to run around at breakneck speed to do everything.

It amuses me when people are planning their first WDW trip and say that they think a few days will be enough to see everything (not that I'm laughing at you, mind you. :rotfl2: I just wish I could be there to see their faces when the realize that that is an impossible feat.:crazy2: ). But it's not to say you CAN'T plan a short trip to the World, you just have to come to terms with the fact that you won't be able to see everything and be ok with that. Then you can just plan for what you want to do next time. :thumbsup2

Sci-Fi lunch is perfect - maybe get there at opening, do a few things and then do lunch and head to MK (or if you don't go to Epcot in between [per your PM]) you can spend a little more time at DHS before heading to MK for the rest of the day.

Here are the things I like at the parks or just general comments on attractions (disclaimer: the following list represents the views of me only and is not representative of the opinions of the DIS or its members. Hee hee hee. I'm just being silly now.)

MK -
Enchanted Tiki Room: Under New Management (this show is based on the DL one but has been updated with some current humor).
Pirates is much better @ DL but you can still go on the WDW version for comparison.
Country Bear Jamboree - mostly I go on this because you can't at DL anymore
Hall of Presidents - love this. A must see.
Haunted Mansion - that's for you...
Many adventures of WTP - the WDW version is better than the DL one. The cars actually "hop" along with Tigger. Cute.
Mickey's Philharmagic - great show. A must see.
Small world is MUCH better at DL. Unless you love this, I'd skip it.
Buzz Lightyear is not as good at WDW. Laser guns are fixed on the car and harder to shoot. DL is better.
Carousel of Progress - again, love this b/c it's no longer at DL. Good relaxing and nappy ride.
Monsters Inc. - cute show.
Stitch's Great Escape - think Mission to Mars, updated.

Epcot - FW
Mission:Space - LOVE this. But not for the faint at heart. I went on it 6 times in a row and the others in my group only made it once. Wimps, I tell you. Ha.
Spaceship Earth - a fun journey through the history of communication.
The Seas with Nemo - cute ride, with some elements of the new Sub ride at DL. But probably cooler. The aquarium effect is especially neat.
The Land - Soarin' is the exact same at DCA - so you can skip if necessary.
Living with the Land (not sure if they still have this - I didn't see it on the site) - but this is Jordan's favorite ride; me, not so much.
Universe of Energy - a must see if only for the cool transport system. But it's a long ride - allow at least 20-25 minutes for this one. Go to the bathroom first because there's nowhere to get off.
Journey into Imagination - This is the third version of this ride at least... I liked the first the best, hated the second and the third is more like the first, but not completely. Cute if you have time but not a must see.

Epcot - WS
Mexico - an ok ride, not phenomenal but mildly interesting. If you have time and there's no line.
Norway - love this ride. STAY FOR THE MOVIE at the end. It's only 5 minutes and you can give dirty looks to the people who walk right through the theatre. Do the right thing and pay homage to the land of the midnight sun... ha ha ha ha. But seriously, it's one of my favorite films.
China - go on this and think of Jordan. It's a circle vision show so if you can't stand for a period of time, you can skip it. Same thing with Canada - both shows are good though if you can make it.
American Adventure - this is a great attraction, but this is one with set showtimes. If possible, try to see this show. It's very inspiring.
France - great film. Runs about 20 minutes, starts every half hour. I love France.

AK -
Kilimanjaro Safaris - somewhat bumpy but if you can do Indiana Jones, this is less hairy. This is a great attraction but you might even want to do it first thing and then get a fast pass for later in the day, because the animals come out at different times so you'll get different experiences.
Trails (Pangani and Maharajah) - these a great views of animals - you can go as fast or slow as you want, based on what animals you enjoy watching.
Expedition Everest will probably be too jarring - I haven't gone on this yet because I was pregnant when we went last but I hear it's pretty hairy.
Kali River Rapids - if it's cold, you'll get pretty wet so maybe forego this. But you can have fun squirting the people on the ride if you stand on the bridge at the exit.
Dinosaur - like Indiana Jones. Pretty good if you can handle the bumpiness.
Primeval Whirl - lots of fun but a very hard spinning ride.
Nemo - a great show...

DHS -
Tower of Terror - if you can do up/down (free fall) this is a great attraction. Much better at WDW than DCA.
Rock n Roller Coaster - probably too much if you have back issues...
Lights Motors Action - one of the best car stunt shows I've seen.
MuppetVision - skip this b/c it's the same at DCA.
Voyage of the LM - cute but more kid-oriented animation and effects.
Indiana Jones - more your typical stunt show. I like the cars one better myself...

Ok, I've yammered on enough. Here's a site I like to check out too with detailed descriptions of all the areas: http://allears.net/tp/themeparks.htm

HTH, enjoy!

Funny... reminds me of me earlier today... Ashlyn woke up a lot last night (more than usual) so I was tired today :faint: so at work I kept hearing things wrong... my coworker kept saying "my mood's improving" and I kept hearing "my lips are moving." :rotfl:

I`m here!! :cheer2: Thanks Wendy! and yes,,that is me on FB! :joker:

"See" you on FB! :wave2: Thanks for the add!:surfweb:

Hey Wendy! I don't know if you know this or not, but I almost got to talk to you on the phone last Friday night! You called Jordan while we were meeting at DLR and he didn't get to it before it stopped ringing! We did talk quite a bit about you and your family though!

Do you have a TR going? How did you like DLR?

Haven't started one yet. I may do a mini-trippie, since we were only there for 1 1/2 days. But I did post a pic of me and Jordan on Part II near the end and on my FB page!

Greetings from China!!!!! I'll finish up the TR when I get back to the USA. I'm having a great time so far. I have many stories to tell already. So get ready for some interesting tales from the Far East.

See you when I get back....
