Peeps 2. The Sweaty Asian Strikes Back. Pt 2. Feb '10. 2/21-Final Chapter. Link to TR

Please excuse me for hijacking your thread Jordan, but I have a confession to make that I know my Dis friends will understand. For Christmas my parents arranged for family photos of each family, in addition to a huge family photo with the entire family (15 of us total with spouses and grand kids.) My older sister decreed that we should all wear red, black, or white and under NO circumstances was I to wear ANYTHING Disney. :confused3

So right before we went to the studio, she even checked me, including my ears to make sure I didn't sneak in earrings that were Mickey shaped. :scared1:

Here is the photo of my little family:

Welllllll, she needs some work on her Hidden Mickey spotting! :lmao:

I am wearing my oh so subtle Mickey Mouse scarf that I purchased last September. I took a closeup of the scarf so you can see the Mickey's but she didn't spot them and I'm not telling!!! :woohoo:

I'm sure you, my fellow "Disfreaks" as my husband affectionately calls us, understand my joy and my need to tell, right? :thumbsup2

.

Don't expect mtospot that scarf next month:rotfl2::rotfl2: Looking forward to runing into you at Pop!!!

My DH has been known to use the term "Disfreaks"! :rolleyes1

Jordan,
I found your TR (Hot Sweaty Asian TR I, II AND III) last year and had a blast reading it! I'm one of those lurkers who only pops out of hiding once or twice a year to ask a question, but I just had to tell you how fab I think your TR trilogy and this PTR is! YOU ROCK!!! :woohoo:

Now don't misunderstand, because I'm the most married woman in the state of Florida, but how is it possible that you haven't been snatched up and hitched yet? You truly are cute as a button, obviously good w/children, love your momma, love Jesus, love WDW and you're hilarious to boot. Quite the catch! :thumbsup2

My family (me, DH, 4 offspring and ILs) are going to DW Jan. 26-29 and I'm soooo stoked!:cool1: I'm not as cool or well-spoken as you so I don't know if I'll ever write a trip report, but I want you to know how much your efforts are appreciated. This past year has been crazy for so many people in our country and many a hard day I've come on the Dis and read your PTR and you really lifted my spirits, so thank you very much!

peace,
MaryPat

Chapter 70. The Young and the Restless.

I've been reminded that I need to do an update a day until I leave...I don't honestly know if that's possible, but I'll do my darndest.

Have you noticed some of us are never quite satisfied with our plans? We go through change after change. I think we get restless. We've done so well organizing the trip that there's that dead space between the planning and the trip. We don't want to stop planning, it's like crack. So we find some reason to keep planning--we make changes. It could be a resort change, or adding a day, or adding the WaterPark and more option. It could be going to US or IOA or SeaWorld. It could adding or dropping the Dining Plan. It could be any number of things or all of the above, just as long as we don't have to stop planning.

Well..... I haven't made any changes yet, but I need to do more planning. Glennbo has recently purchased airfare for his trip in June. His update prompted me to go back and look to see what prices were now for my dates. 313 non-stop a great price. I think I've been down this road once before...I could buy the tix and take a credit on southwest. The new flights would get me in on Friday at 6pm instead of 11:20pm. On the 18th, I would leave at 7pm instead of 2:30pm. I would have to adjust my spending money budget to do it, but it is feasible. I would probably give up most of my TS ADRs during the solo portion of my trip except for maybe Brown Derby and Jiko. Thoughts?

I also started thinking about resorts. As much as I want to stay at AKV Kidani, a little voice inside kept telling me how much I'd miss the Boardwalk/Beach Club area. So....I asked Wendy to call DVC Member Services and see if I could switch back to the BWVs. Well..it was not meant to be. They are booked. So, the restless person is forced to stick with AKV. Darn.;)

I have yet to have time to really go back over my itinerary. In fact, the last version was done at the beginning of December. I may do that tonight.

So much for the Young and the Restless.

And now cuddle up under the blankets, grab a cup of coffee and listen to a story.

As many of you know, I used to work in mgmt at Disneyland. Disneyland is about 7 minutes door-to-door to where I lived when I worked there. As I was leaving work one day, I had the urge to dookie. Not bad. Now I remember thinking to myself as I stood outside the restroom at work, "I can go here and leave behind death and destruction or I could go home in the comfort of my home; grab a magazine and take my time." It wasn't exactly like that, but close. I chose to go home.

As I was getting off the off-ramp, I noticed a back-up. I wasn't that worried as there's a few signals right off the fwy that often back up the freeway a bit. However, as I exited the freeway. Traffic was at a standstill. It took about 30 minutes to get through 2 signals. Now, remember I had to dook. You know how sometimes when you have to go bad, but can't you hold it in. You start sweating as a "contraction" comes, you squeeze your stomach muscles to hold that dook in...and then it's gone. Well that went on for about 1/2 hour. However, with each "contraction" the pressure pushing down got more intense. It was bad. I finally got up to the 2nd signal which meant I needed to turn left and traffic was gone. I looked ahead to see the where all the traffic was going. It was April 15th....in 1987....tax day. Everyone was dropping their taxes off at the Post Office.

You know when you have to go potty really bad and you're driving home. You get out of your car and all of a sudden it's like your body says "Okay, I'm ready to go" and you run to the bathroom and you're pulling down your pants and you go behind first to the toilet hoping that you make it.....

Well.......when the light turned green at the signal....my body said "You're home, I'm ready to go". I tried to hold it, but it was too late. Lincoln log decided to drop right there in my pants, in my car, while I was driving. It was embarrassing, but you know what...it felt soooo good.

Okay I gotta run to church...I don't even have time to do the links right now........

Great trip down PTR memory lane. As for the other update- when you gotta go, you gotta go...

:scared1::scared1::scared1:
There are no words.

I know what you mean about the planning changing plans, etc. :rotfl2: I've tried my best to not do that too much this time. I've just got so many other things going on leading up to the trip.

29 left!!

That's a totally acceptable bodily response to tax day.

On the (potential) plan changes -- what ADRs would you possibly have to drop?

You may go back to the Boardwalk area after this trip, but I think you'll be glad you tried Kidani.

the only down side is I'm still packing for my 16 yr old....you just can't trust a teenage boy to bring enough clean chonies and socks.

And even some 48 year olds.... :rolleyes1 (sorry, couldn't resist)

I am trying to "let go" a little and will let them pack their "toys to keep me busy" bags. But the clothes, right now they're way too young to figure out how many things they'll need for a X day trip, and how many changes they'll need based on parks, restaurants, etc. I can barely get them to dress themselves for the day! Ha ha. Also, Erin's got some questionable fashion sense so I would worry about what she'd pack... and I fear they'd be like me where I'd pack things because I like them but then realize I have nothing to match it when I got there... and with 5, we can't afford "wasted" clothing taking up space.... ha ha ha ha.

Wendy, I'm sorry I missed this before! I would think it would work for static cling the same way a regular softener sheet would, but we don't wear a lot of cling-inviting clothes, so I'm not sure.

Thanks so much! I might have to try this!!

MaryPat, you just CRACK ME UP!!! You fit right in here on this PTR... :thumbsup2 Welcome to the madness!!! Jump on in, the water's great... well... maybe :laughing:

Chapter 70. The Young and the Restless.

And now cuddle up under the blankets, grab a cup of coffee and listen to a story.

You forgot to say "but make sure you are not actually DRINKING the coffee while listening to this story..." (and actually, even holding a hot cup of coffee is probably not advised either...)

:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I think that dookie story is probably one of the funniest that I have ever heard. I think that I am going to love this thread :lmao:

I am a single parent of DS11 (12 in Feb) and DD9 (10 in Feb) so I do everything (except for their chores of course) around the house. The way that it works out my kids go see their dad the weekend before we leave so that weekend will be packing time. I am not quite sure on the details of pulling off the surprise just yet but I have a little time for that. I know what they like and don't like and I am such a control freak when it comes to planning it's my way anyway:lmao: I made some really great ADRs and I am soooo excited for this trip - I am going to have such a hard time keeping it quiet!

:lmao:

As for the flight - I'm not sure if I could bring myself to buy another ticket - but those times are awfully nice!

Okay..your story blew my theory that secretly you were that woman astronaut that drove to FL in depends to harass her ex-lover's new chic... :lmao:

Just for you Cynthia!

It's an indescribable feeling standing on the Great Wall. We went to a less touristy part of the Great Wall and since it was low season. We saw maybe 30other people on the wall the whole day. It made it even more awe inspiring.

The flat kids came out quite a bit in Beijing.

That's what I love about them. The aloneness. Very surreal and moving.

It is 70 right now. I'm wearing a short sleeve shirt.

Everyone should go to one of these 3 place in China=Beijing, Shanghai or Hong Kong.

Thanks!:thumbsup2

Someday!
I almost ate one of the seahorses until I saw them moving.....:scared1:

See I tell Jeff I could eat all the scary stuff if we ever did Amazing Race but then I think about something like that. Chewy I can handle. Crunchy. Slimy. But moving?

Well, the good thing about our kids is that they don't get a lot of say (if any) about our trip plans (ha ha ha). We pretty much do all the planning since we kind of know what they'd like to do, eat, etc. So I could pretty much plan the trip without them knowing... I do all the packing too so they wouldn't even be tipped off by that... ha ha.

They are young, just wait! Not as easy...they get smarter darn them. And look at your computer when you are on it!

that's how I do it too. It works well with my control issues.;)

the only down side is I'm still packing for my 16 yr old....you just can't trust a teenage boy to bring enough clean chonies and socks.
Lists Cherie, give them lists. Then check their work. I have veto power and will make them switch or repack but they need to do the initial assembly!
You forgot to say "but make sure you are not actually DRINKING the coffee while listening to this story..." (and actually, even holding a hot cup of coffee is probably not advised either...)

:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl:

So very very true. Spew worthy to be sure

AWWWWW crap.. it's tax day!

That was a classic post! I love it! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Ditto!

Dude! I think I just blew a nasal cavity trying to surpress the burst of laughter that was attempting to erupt. CLASSIC!

Never actually launched a scud in my britches, but I have had some near misses. I hear you on the preassure...that's when you don't even have to flush...you just shoot it straight down the pipes.
Good luck on the whole changing fever. (You may be able to help fight those urges by giving the monorail safety annoumncement every time you start your car and taking pictures of everything you eat.).
