Finally caught up on your updates. Iten looks awesome. Haven't read all the tween banter, but scimmed enough for a couple of good laughs. Sorry you're not feeling too great. Hopefully sleep will help.

GB!

miss you bro.

Itinerary changes coming up.

Resort choice: Since 1997, out of 10 trips to WDW, 7 included a portion (if not all) of the trip at an Epcot resort (BWV, BCV or YC). This will be the 1st time since 2002, that at least a part of my trip will NOT include a few nights at one of those resorts. With the support of many people here, I am trying the AKV for the first time. I was so apprehensive about the switch that I called Wendy a few weeks ago to try and switch to BWVs--no availability...

Restaurant choices: I am a person of habit--15 trips to WDW since 1991 including this upcoming trip, nuff said. I almost always go to Chefs, CA Grill, Flying Fish, Prime Time Cafe and Teppan Edo. This trip, however, I am trying several new restaurants--Kouzzina, Boma, Sanaa, Raglan Road, the Wave and Kona Cafe.

I'm always so nervous about trying new places too - although excited about it at the same time. What if its not as good? What if I wished we'd just stuck with what we know? It does help to come here and get a push to try something new. Makes it feel a little safer.

I thought about this tonight and really I have to thank all of you for opening me up to change. I've been exposed to things on DIS that I don't think I would ever have the opportunity to experience otherwise. I know what it's like to live in snow, sort of. I've seen Savannah; I've been to the Dells; I've travelled to Greece--all through other people's eyes. I feel like I've been to Louisiana, Texas, Georgia, Washington... I've seen the streets of NYC. I've gained understanding of what it's like to live in a blended family. I've gained appreciation of those who have children with disabilities. You all have changed who I am and how I view the world. I am a better person because of all of you.

I usually know what to expect from my WDW vacations, but with so much change, it's going to be so different this year. I have you all to thank for that.:grouphug:

I know just what you mean! I loved traveling "with" you to China! The dis is really a blessing. Other people just don't get it, but it really does feel like a family here.:cutie:

Chapter 75. A brief summary

I just added Tusker House on Wednesday night, but since it's Winkers and Rosie's last night, I am open to change. It came down to Tusker House and Captain's Grille, but since I was already at AK for evening EMH, it became a matter of convenience. I'm still kind of upset they switched Tusker House to a TS/Buffet as I LOVED it as a Counter Service Restaurant. However, I do want to try it out as a Buffet and it's somewhere I haven't tried before so...there you go.

I know! It was a REALLY good counter service - and there aren't that many of those. Have you read any good reviews of it as a TS? I'll have to check out the dining board. As soon as we pick our resort we really need to get busy on the ADR front.

I'm getting out the canoe, some galoshes, an umbrella, my swimsuit. If you haven't heard, we're supposed to get hit with a series of storms on the West Coast. 4-8 inches over the next 5 days. We haven't had rain like that since 2005 (I didn't know that, but that's what the Greg Forbes of the Weather Channel said. He's bald and wears glasses so I believe him). It's raining right now. People in SoCal can't drive in dry weather. The next week will be crazy as far as accidents of the freeways....

Okay that's all I got......for now.

Are you getting a little break from the weather now? Saw the mudslides on the news this morning. :scared1:

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

In 1992, after a night of heavy drinking, we went to Typhoon lagoon. On the lazy river, Castaway Creek, we were bobbing up and down on the river on the innertubes, all of a sudden, I needed to get off that river QUICK..I jumped off my tube and walked (as fast as I could in waist deep water) to the nearest exit. Fortunately, I didn't hurl, but it coulda been a messy and chunky river....

Oh - that just gave me a little involuntary shiver...

I am a safe eater. I usually don't stray too much from chicken or steak even at the more "exotic" places at WDW. It's hard to mess up chicken or steak and if you do, it's more about how long it was cooked at not the spices used-at least for me. Occasionally i will try something different. At CA Grill, they have a great pork tenderloin....

It's funny. It IS family.

I wish DHS had better Counter Service Restaurants.

I'm sure I looked green...

I'm glad I have your PTR to keep me sane. A tired 5 month old (fighting a nap screaming his head off) and a tired 2 year old (not fighting his nap, but just laying in bed chilling)...has my mind frazzled and in need of quiet time.

I need TR's or PTR's to read now. ^_^

I'll try and help out with another update soon.

Just in the nick of time to wish you a great trip, too! Phew - I'm really cutting it close. :rolleyes1

why hello!
:banana::banana:

Really? who knew?

I'll guess I'll have to re-read the "How to get chicks" manual again....;)

I wholeheartedly agree!

This is totally crackin me up....I NEVER knew this...If I had I would've taken a whole different approach with women.....;)

I just picture Jim Cantore and...oh, never mind...:rolleyes1

Hello, when Hugh Jackman broke out into singing and dancing at the Oscars, I broke out into a sweat and almost needed a heart defibrillator. :rotfl2:

::yes::::yes::::yes::::yes::::yes::::yes::::yes::::yes::

I'm just having a heart palpitation from this conversation...well that could be the 5th cup of coffee but I'm pretty sure it's Hugh Jackman...:lmao:

:faint::lmao:

Nah, you rank above Joe Pesci, and I don't think he sings. :lmao:

Jordan trust us...women love it...:lovestruc

BTW...your ressies look greaat...you know I'm a big AKL fan...you can't go wrong, you have a lot of nice stuff...hmmm...I've never been to Tutto so I can't wait to hear about that and Raglan...Take extra pictures...:lmao:

Have you been to Teppan before...everyone seems to like it-I've never been and I'm trying to decide between that and Tokyo Dining for October...:confused3

When is peepfest exactly...I know June 2012 but do you actually have dates?

Thanks PPP,

I've eaten at Tutto. It gets mixed reviews, but we had a great meal there in 08.

I've been to Teppan before. It's your normal Teppan style meal, but at WDW. We love it.

I think if you are seeking sushi Tokyo Dining might be a better choice....

June 16-30ish...

Glad your surgery went well, Wendy! It is so amazing they can do that!

Wendy I would love to be able to have lasik. My brother has had it done and he loves it.

I know, amazing! I see better and better each day so I can't wait for it to fully settle in and be my "normal" eyesight. It's astounding. So weird to have to change my morning/evening routine after 25 years... crazy.
How bad was it sitting with something in your eye? I don't know if there's enough drugs they could give me to relax....could you feel it?

I TOTALLY thought I would freak out as well (HATE people touching or even getting near my eyes!!!) but unfortunately, they couldn't "put me out" as I had to be awake for it (darn), but they put these numbing drops in and seriously - I COULDN'T FEEL A THING - even when I could see that he was brushing off the drops and moving things around (yes, I know this is wigging some of you out - would be for me too) but amazingly, as long as you just concentrate on staying still, it is all good. I did find my toes and fingers nervously twitching, but that was all I was going to let myself do to release the nervous energy and it was fine. It's all pretty crazy.

When we went to AZ in August. I didn't really spend that much time with them and you know where that ended me up...:rolleyes1

So basically, you need to just come and sleep on our pull out bed. Hee hee hee. :rotfl:

EXACTLY!

I am devastated he isn't hosting the Oscar's this year. Jeff and I both thought he was the best we could recall. All the humor of Billy Crystal, the Wolverine factor and a little Gene Kelly.

Sigh.:love:

I actually checked up on Denver on Weather.com...I'm kind of a weather freak....so I knew about the lack of snow...

This makes me laugh as my father is like that too. No matter what time of the day it is, he thinks it's a good time to watch the weather channel. When he eats, when he sleeps, when he wakes up. I think he even checks it wirelessly from the bathroom. I know you think I'm kidding....I'm not! And guess what the best part is....he passed it on to his first born daughter. My husband is less than thrilled.

Ok, first of all - WHEW - I am WAY swamped at work but had to take a little break during lunch to DIS and blow through 20 pages that I was behind. Now I'm sure I've messed up my eyes skimming through so many pages so fast... ha ha ha. :3dglasses
This is so well written.... Kudos to you, Jordan! It reminds me of the song "For Good" from Wicked! Do you know it?

Love love love this song! And so true... so many people come in and out of our lives and change it... for good.

Or at the very least hit the MUTE button.

So funny - our kids now do that all the time (point their "remote control" hands at us and say "freeze button" "mute button" "pause button" "fast forward button"). Can you say, "Way too much TV...???" Ha ha ha. Oh, the overly-stimulated information age generation. Even Ashlyn is already on the computer. Sigh.
Okay there's a tornado warning in our area? what do i need to do. our satellite tv isn't working because the rain is so heavy....

Here's what the report is for Orange County (where Jordo is): THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN SAN DIEGO HAS ISSUED A * TORNADO WARNING FOR... ORANGE COUNTY IN SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA... I guess I gotta bulk up....anyone know the number of Mark McGwire's "doctor"?
