Pantry. Growing up, I knew a girl who's family kept it in the fridge, I thought they were weird! :teeth:

Peanut buttter, syrup, parmesan cheese, mustard, ketchup, all HAVE to go in the cupboard! Refrigeration of these items is so LEFT when it should be RIGHT! P.S.-syrup has to be micro'd before using!
But again...this is my 2 cents!

In the cabinet.
Who would want to eat cold peanut butter.
We also keep our Ketchup in the pantry.

While I don't like it cold, peanut butter (even the not natural stuff) is fat and oils/fats sitting at room temperature become rancid. I keep open cooking oils in the fridge too.

Mine is on the top of the fridge. My DD eats it almost every day and it spreads better when it's warm.

When we had children eating PB every day I kept it in the pantry. Now that we seldom use it, I keep it in the refrigerator- oils get rancid. Our real maple syrup says to refrigerate it. Mustard, catsup, parmesan- refrigerate. Ground coffee- refrigerator.

warm peanut butter? BLECH!!! Only way I eat it is right out of the fridge..I don't like it room temp...yuk....
Peanut buttter, syrup, parmesan cheese, mustard, ketchup all in the fridge!

PB in the cupboard. Maple syrup, ketchup, mustard in the fridge. Parmesan cheese it depends...if it's the Kraft stuff in the cupbaord, if it's the fresh grated stuff then that goes in the fridge.

I would think ketchup would go rancid fast if not refrigerated!

How about butter? Once opened and in the dish I keep mine out...I hate hard butter.

I follow the instructions on most of the products. PB goes in the cupboard. We don't buy the natural stuff. Maple syrup goes in the fridge. The commercial, "fake maple" goes in the pantry. I do put ketchup in the fridge, but I don't think it has to go there. I can find it easier in the fridge. I thought the parmesan cheese (the shaker kind) is supposed to be stored in the fridge--I'll have to check the package.

Are you serious??? Doesn't it go rancid???? I don't like to leave butter out more than a few minutes without getting it back in the fridge..if its left out to long I toss it!

Butter is not highly perishable. I do store it in the fridge, but if I'm making cookies, etc I will leave it out as long as overnight.

Ewwwww......cold peanut butter? Never knew anyone that put PB in the fridge. Wouldn't it be hard to spread when it is cold? I shudder just thinking about it.

I love peanut butter but it can't be cold. The jelly is supposed to be cold though. :)

I guess I'm one of the oddalls. I keep mine in the refrigerator.

PB is in the pantry (and it's Smuckers Natural PB, no where does it say it has to be refrigerated, looking at the jar right now). Maple Syrup in in the fridge.

Interesting... I have a jar of Smuckers Natural PB sitting in front of me right now and on the front on the right side of the label it says "Oil separation is natural, just stir and refrigerate."

I don't think it HAS to be refrigerated, it'll just separate easier.

I don't buy the fake stuff but BF does and keeps it in the cupboard. I put my natural stuff in the fridge to prevent the oil from separating.

Our ketchup, mustard and syrup all say refrigerate after opening... so we keep those in the fridge.
