My 13 yr old DS actually has some peach fuzz on his upper lip!!! :thumbsup2 :lmao:

He's been asking lately if he could start shaving..to which I replied..."Son, I have more of a mustache than you!"....guess I can't say that anymore....THANK GOD!!! :rolleyes1

Puberty is going to be so much fun! :thumbsup2 :rolleyes1

Ahh, puberty...
I think its Latin for "God help us all..." :scared:

When I was younger I remember when my brother started getting a "mustache." When I first noticed I thought it was dirt and told him he needed to go wash his face! :rotfl2:

I'm SO NOT ready for puberty!!

I noticed the fuzzy lip last night. I was sitting down at the table and he was standing behind me and I turned to tell him something and there it was....the slightest bit of a shadow. At first I thought it was just the light on his face...then I saw it....THE FUZZ!! I actually stared at it!! I was going to say something about it, but didn't want to embarrass the boy...there's plenty of time for that later!

Facial hair, armpit hair, girlfriends, hormones.....aaaaaaarrrrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh

I'M NOT READY FOR THIS!!!!!

My DS just turned 13 on Thursday and has been shaving (electric razor) for a few months. Not every day but definitely a few times a week. It started to bother him when people would ask him if he was growing a mustache.

We've been dealing with girlfriend issues for a while now and it's definitely not easy!

Definitely not looking forward to full-blown puberty.

kmp1191: I hope your son is doing well!

Try being the mother of a daughter. Puberty kicks in a lot earlier for them. DD just turned 13, has had her period for a year and a half, deoderant since she was 8, shaving her legs/armpits for about 2 years now. :scared1: Okay, maybe TMI, but you get my drift. I wish all this could have waited until 13! :rotfl:

My DS is 11. He's already got a bunch of armpit hair and his voice is changing. He's growing up so fast.

Wow no kidding. I'm glad I have sons. Just hand them an electric razor and a stick of deoderant and they are good to go. All the other "business" ... is their business.

I was not, however, prepared for this amount of moodiness from boys. And when a ~120lb boy decides he's mad and is going to slam a door, throw a book, etc...well, DS has wall holes to illustrate. Maybe in the spring he'll learn the fine art of spackeling.

Being Mom to a girl, they hit puberty a lot sooner. DD10.5 has been using deodorant since she was 8, started shaving her underarms this summer (she refuses to do her legs...but that is okay, after all she is only in 5th grade...I figure that will happen next summer :rolleyes1 ) and a bra since the summer between 3rd and 4th grade. She isn't into makeup (thank heavens...I'm going to hold that off as long as possible), but is starting to comment that the some of the girls at school talk about it and she doesn't get why :woohoo: .

But the bonus...when we were all at the grocery store and DH saw a boy 'checking her out' and he almost did the Linda Blair thing in Exorcist to get a better look at her. DH says to me, "Did you see that? What is that boy thinking?" "Um...that he's about 10 or 11 looking and he saw a girl he thought was cute so he stared."  DD didn't even notice, but DH was so funny about it. In his mind she is still 4y.o. I guess....

DS13 has had a BEARD for several weeks now! Actually its like some major peach fuzz, but all over the bottom of his chin. Lots of the hair is easily 2" long! We've been teasing and petting and pulling and he doesn't want to shave it :confused3 Then in the car on Thursday I noticed.... the mustache! Peach Fuzz on the upper lip...and obviously so...but it seemed to have cropped up overnight :confused3 He's definitely getting an electric razor for Christmas. He may not use it, but it will be there!

Ours turned 13 in May. He has always had some darker fuzz on his lip - he has darker coloring in general. But in recent months, the stuff on his lip has really become noticeable - he even won a choir camp award this summer:
"Can grow a mustache better than his Proctor" Award!

He doesn't like it, and last night, he shaved it off with the help of his dad. He looks very different now!

OMG~I know about the girl issues too! My DD is 9 going on 18!! She got a bra over the summer and started with the deoderant last year. Somedays she want's makeup, sometimes she doesn't. Everything is drama! Boys, friends, clothes, hair...all of it!!
I also know what you mean about the mood swings of the 13yr old boy! One minute he is happy-go-goofy, the next he's madder than hell and gonna take it out on his sister! (usually she has it coming....she instigates...ALOT!)
He's been having girl issues....he likes them, but they only want to be friends/buddies. He told me he sick of being the "buddy"..lol...just wait son...just wait.

oh...kathiniowa~he's doing much better. (If you're referring to my 13yr old grounded for life thread...) He is still working for TLSnell at the horse barn and he enjoys it. He hasn't done anything else to incur more punishment, so at the end of the year, he'll have paid me back in full. Although I did tell him that if he got another zero on any schoolwork...just from not doing it, then I would be keeping the iPOD indefinately. He's so close....but yet so far!!

Oh, and how do you get the boy to wear deorderant EVERY DAY!!! He says that since it's cold out, he's not sweating and doesn't need it. God help me!

DS and DD are twins. Try going thru the whole puberty thing with both at one time..:scared: DS was early and DD was a late bloomer.

When he started getting his peach fuzz it really bothered him. It probably didn't help that his sister and brother called him " 'stach boy".

I put off the inevitable as long as I could, but now he uses an electric trimmer every couple of days. It is all he needs.

Okay, you win! :rotfl: :scared1: :lmao:

My DS6 has had peach fuzz since about 4! He is going to be one hairy lil man. The lady that cuts his hair always laughs and has to shave his neck.

He is excited though, he says it would be cool to be covered in hair like Chewbacca. Good thing kid cuz I think you will be!

Tell him that he smells and the girls won't like him. ;)

 Oh GREAT! Just when I thought I was wrapping my brain around this whole twin thing, you throw THAT out there!:scared1: :scared1: There is NO WAY I am going to survive having 4 teens in the house. :scared:
