We're thinking of flying pe from new york next year and wanted to know if there was any difference to the a330-300 and the 747-400 (all downstairs).

The A330 is a new plane, the 747 is a refurb.

PE in the A330 is great. Very modern. But the 747 has PE in the bubble if you wanted a bit more quiet.

I don't think they do anymore. The 747's from New York are 1st class in the bubble or a mixture of 1st and economy. I think its only the 747's from Gatwick that have the PE upstairs still. I may be wrong but that's what I thought and if you look at VFlyer it also looks that way.:)

We are doing NY in March from LHR and they told us it was the same configuration...

Knowing VA, they're probably lying though :rotfl:

The LHR 747s PE is downstairs (upstairs is half upper and half E).

Having been on one it's OK as long as you are away from the galley.

Not been on a 3 class A330 but they are newer.

I would pick the flight times that's suit best.

Yeah no bubble on the 747 as its a 747-400, no bubble on flights from New York.

We had a last minute change of plan today anyway as flights came up from Miami with our miles so we are flying PE from Miami now, second time in PE, that was a flight with our miles too. :cool1:

As a few others said no PE in bubble from LHR and the AC have not been refurbed though they are newer than the LGW 747's and already have VOD installed
