I noticed this when I booked Seattle to LongBeach for April. They also have several flights coming in and out to Portland. $89 each way is what we paid for our flights from Seattle.
I almost always fly alaska to sna but now with these prices I am considering another quick trip the first week of june. What type of transportation from lgb do most of you use?
Pay attention to if the price goes down. Believe it or not, Alaska credits for price decreases, just like Southwest and Jet Blue!
Except for as of the other week, instead of giving you just the amount that it decreased, they round it up to the nearest $25.
So when our flights decreased by $5 each, and I called to get a $15 credit, I was emailed $75 worth of credit. I called to make sure this was right, and the rep checked her emails from management and it was a brand new thing, that they round up the credit. NICE.
OH, ONLY if it's within something like 60 days of booking!
Oh, Southwest is the BEST! There's no time frame of booking/credit for them and you can do it multiple times if the price keeps going down. IF you have a nonrefundable fare, you get a credit towards future travel. It's good for one year from the tine of *booking*. You have to travel before it expires (with Jet Blue you have to *book* before it expires, from my experience) (I don't know the rule with the Alaska credit).
In the Transportation forum there are many posts about how to change your flights to get the credit, and they explain things better than I do, but it's something you can do online. You can even change your flights if it's the same price or lower as what you have, at NO fee. (though if you booked using Southwest Vacations it's a bit different) Just go online to your account and flights and you can just change things. The Transportation people are better at this so I'll shush now.
