My DH could use a little PD today. Just a little background about him. He has been unemployed since the beginning of March. He had started a new job the end of September with a 6 months probation period. During his probation, his mom fell seriously ill, and ended up passing away in January. I was sick from my chemo, and wound up in the hospital for 5 days with pneumonia the day after his mother's funeral. He was let go for missing too many days (he had taken a week off (unpaid) in December when his mom was very touch and go, but she was able to make it up here, which is where she died, and had 6 days off after her death and when I was in the hospital (2 of the days unapaid). I thought extenuating circumstances could be overlooked, but that is neither here nor there.

He is in the Air National Guard, and has been working at his base in Madison (about 2 and a half hours from our home in Green Bay) since April, and also had an 18 day trip with the Guard over to Israel. He has sent out his resume to so many places, ended up with 2 interviews, and didn't get either job. He does had a job interview today down at the base. It is for a job that he really, really, REALLY wants (plus, if he gets the job, he won't have to go to Iraq over the holidays, good news for me!).

I want him to get this job, because I know it will be a great opportunity for him, but I also don't want him to get it. I don't want to have to move. I know it sounds selfish, but I have a decent job here, DS(4) has lots of friends at church and day care, and he is really bonded with my parents (he usually sees them 2 -3 days a week). If he gets the choice, there is no option but for me to go with him, but I would prefer him to work around here.

Sorry this is so long. I have been pondering and praying about all this bunches and bunches lately!

Good thoughts, prayers and pixie dust coming your way!!! I wish you all the best!!

Wow! What a lot to have to deal with. I'm sorry it's been so hard for you both.

If he gets the job in/near Madison there IS a bright side. Madison is a wonderful place, I love it there. There's lots to do, lots to see, lots happening.

I will be thinking of you. Please keep us updated.

Sorry your DH is having such a hard time finding a job. Madison isn't that far from Green Bay, so your DS can still see your parents. Saying a prayer that everything works out for you guys.

Sending prayers up for a good resolution that works well for all involved!

I know that Madison isn't that far, and I like to VISIT there. The problem is, I can't picture myself living anywhere but here!

Prayers and Pixie Dust are headed your way during these stressful times. Here's advice from my 92yo Great-Aunt: Keep a positive outlook and good things will happen. Good luck to you and your dh.
